Huge respect for Morts I'm sure you'll find he was playing injured too.
Just before Barba scooted around him for the Bulldogs first try he came limping out of a tackle pretty seriously. None of the commentators made any mention of it but that's why Barba got around him, he was quite clearly restricted in his movement.
I thought if he has to go off here we've got no chance. But just that sort of night all the boys dug in and makes you so proud in the club.
morts should replace pearce and friendy should play 80. i love pearcey but for all his toughness and heart he is a few braincells short... and then some

As good as Morts was, the Bulldogs were terrible. What you saw from the bulldogs was the equivalent of what we dished up against parra. The dogs were just looking to get to the bye IMO.
I thought morts was decent... he played well and did a good job to cover for pearce. But I personally think if pearce put in a kicking performance like mortimer did tonight, he would have been crucified lol. All of his kicks were short and kicked directly to one of the back three, with the exception of one toward the end which went well dead. Saying that, dan had no other option to take the pressure off him.
But like I said I still think he had a pretty good game and im glad we have him in our squad

Don't buy in to the Barba complacency weak excuse.
They played as well as they were allowed to.
Very hard to thwart a show like we put on last night...ball control, 80 minute intensity and focus...run and tackle hard.
Its very hard to beat and look good against that sort of constant pressure.

I agree, we played pretty well tonight... I dont know the stats, but our completion rate seemed good and we were more disciplined than in recent weeks. Good all round effort. We werent as sharp as we usually are in attack, but we did very well with the 17 we had
