But yes, let's drop the incumbent NSW halfback for a kid that's living even more off his surname than his predecessor is.
and yet he totally dominated his opposite half, trent hodgkinson.

Even when he was playing in reggies, he looked way too good for NSW cup.

It's no mistake that he played in a grandfinal. His career, like many others, has imo been stunted by the grandfinal loss of 09' which they should have rightfully won, were the storm not cheats. If memory serves correct, in 2009 he had an outstanding season, the start to his career was similar to what foran and reynolds had in their first season. He was breaking the line often, and setting up heaps of trys . After losing the gf and a few of their gf players, Hayne losing form, and signing some massive lemons, it all started to go south for parra.

Fans can be very harsh and critical but Robbo seems to see something in him, which is why he told him to stay. After the win on friday in the presser, he attributed the team's success on Friday to Morts handling himself in a big occasion.
Funny thing is you could replace Morteins position in that post with PearceOrf or Baloney.

All three played in a losing GF 3 years running. All three haven't reached those heights for various reasons since.

They are all in the same squad now. It's a good thing IMO that we have such depth. All three are quality players IMO. Different strengths and weaknesses but all three can play.

We should be pleased as fans.

I doubt much will change other than for injury position wise between the three this season.

The bolded line, it's actually a lot like PearceOrf for most of his career with Bwaiff at his side.

        He generally does

The only differance between the 2 players is Morts executes the play and doesn't follow it up with an error

          Oh Yeah

Once again as i have been saying for years

We will be twice as good a side with Pearce is finally moved to his rightful position as Hooker, his work ethic shows he is a natural rake, Friend into a running / backrower in the Fensom mould.

I have no doubt The Teflon Kid would succeed the grub Cam Smith as Australia's hooker if the move was made

From your mouth to the person who will keep Wayne Pearce out of our club long enough to instigate it.

I'm afraid you'll have to pry the number 7 jersey out of Mitchell's cold, dead hands.

Stasi, Morty won his grand final last year. I know it's only the reggies but that's one up he has on the anointed one.

He proved his talents on Friday night.

I'm a massive fan of Morts but he isn't good enough to be a full time first grade half.

Playing week in week out his weaknesses will be exposed.

The way Robbo is using him this year is perfect.

                      Morts played well.
He needs to improve his goalkicking though.

Yep, I'm sure Pearce is hoping he too can one day sport a NSW Cup premierhsip winners medal!

                          I love you Johnathon.

                          And I love Mortein.

I don't think they will replace PearceOrf though, other than injury.

It's where he'd be if his last name wasn't Pearce.

Can you really use that one in relation to the name Mortimer???

Couldn't agree more mate and have been calling for this positional change to fellow Roosters mates for a good 2-3 years.

No one is disputing how tough Pearce is and he's a great defender for his size.

But his creativity on the field is akin to my artistic ability drawing stick figures.

                                Crap No.7. Would be a perfect No.9.
