Upon second viewing Hayne was easily the second best player on the field last night. He steps it up a gear for origin and that next gear is just wow. He has enough talent to be with inglis as the most dangerous player in the comp but only seems to pull it out in a sky blue jersey. His work behind the play was something last night. To stop Smith from scoring he'd gone basically all the way right to behind Ferguson who'd slipped over in the backline shift leading up all the way back to his left behind where Maloney was defending to tackle Smith well enough to stop him before the line. When Slater busts up the middle he communicated with Morris perfectly to almost take Slater over the sideline. He defused multiple middle third attacking kicks. Won penalties with dominant runs from the back. He and Ferguson returning the football must be a scary thought for those QLDers. On Fergo, thought he had a superb game. Bit too enthusiastic on his first carry (which was a great run) dropping in the PTB but defused tough bombs all night and looked dangerous running at the line.

I thought Ferguson was awesome. Young, dumb and on debut, qld targetted him heavily. Every time he was tackled, they put heaps of dirt in the tackle. Just about every time they had their hands around his throat. But he didn't lose his head and played a very solid game. I didn't realise how big he was either. If he can grow up mentally, he could do anything. Losing his buddy Dugan is the best thing that could happen to him.

I thought he was fantastic as well. Despite the error, you got everything you wanted out of him. Ran the ball hard and was very solid under the high ball. Did move out of position a few times which could've ended in disaster but luckily Hayne was alert.

            Better than Uate.

I'm within 80 minutes of snacking on a triple decker shit sandwich about Laurie Daley. If he pulls this off, there'll be no living with him.

A number of stills have shown QLD players with palms chearly forced into NSW players' eyes. Seemed a bit dodgy particularly given how tight refs have been asked to be regarding any contact with the head.

Of note wasn't Inglis bloody useless!! I hope they pick him as centre again because he's forgotten how to play in the centres.

The refs still heavily favour QLD... it annoys me because to me this means we need decisive wins. We need wins where we dominate the whole game and give them no chance, whereas they'll be allowed to have sloppy undeserving wins.

Glad our 3 were some of the best one the park!
What about the refs tip sheets ? Not apparent in Origin . Shayne Hayne what's with him - can't the NRL come up with something better than this Harrigan clone

I didn't realise the ages of the QLD players.
                    Slater 30
                    Tate 31
                    Hodges 31
                    Cronk 29
                    Thurston 30
                    C.Smith 30
                    Hannant 29
                    Shillington 30

Really does remind me of the all conquering Australian cricket team; when they aged and all retired. Look how rubbish we are now.
