There definitely is a lack of proven performers after JWH & Moa in the front row. I wouldn't say it's a fault of the recruitment we've done this year but some unfortunate circumstances and some poor decision making in the past have put us in this position.

Robbo went some way to trying to address this (the best he could after all the players had been snapped up on the open market) when he bought LOD because he brings experience and is a proven NRL performer, he really needs to step up on Saturday. FPN falls into the same category, he's been playing consistently since 2007 he really needs to stand up and lead the pack.

I think people are a bit bullish after our recent string of results but reality is our depth is a bunch of kids with huge potential. How successfully they can transfer their U20's & NSW Cup performances into first grade is unknown. History shows that it's a massive step up in class and they couldn't have picked a worse week up against the best front row combination in the comp.

nice too see that marketing is on the job.
they must be aware that jwh is just as valuable of the field as on. he is a very likeable guy, very polite and damn funny. for him not to come up to townsville would have been a huge dissapointment for the members /fans.

if it was buddy franklyn suspended he wouldnt travel. toooo big headed. Very dissapointed in him no coming up last year and this year ignored us members and ran to the bus after the practice run at the suns.......freaken gave it to him on the field too

I know. I can't believe our crap recruitment over the last 12-18 months. Why the hell would we recruit SBW, Jimmy Maloney, Michael Jennings, whilst continue to keep RTS, Moga, Tupou, Evans, Napa and Tasi. I can't believe it.

its below 1st grade and depth of our reserves im talking about 13

You have to consider the salary cap.
I don't think any club is allowed too much quality depth with the cap.
Having blokes like Bosden, Tasi, Napa, Evans, Lui, Seluini suggests we do have a few who can step up and hopefully perform if required.

Telletubby Marty and LOD are very important over the next 5 weeks.

I think FPN should start with Marty.
I'll be surprised if Napa is on the bench ahead of Tasi.

Watching LOD over the past two weeks he is starting to come around. He was barking orders at the pack during the scrums and its starting to show that he is getting NRL confidence back. And this week against his old team I reckon it will be a massive game from him. And Tasi will step up no doubt. Robbie has the boys actually wanting to play.

Agree with your comments. I think LOD will step up this week.

Also FPN really charged onto the ball last wek when he came on last week. I think he will do the same tonight. I sense the guys coming in or returning want to keep the standard high. they seem tohave bought in to the coach's plans. I think this is a happy squad which leads to positive attitude.

Merlin, I hope your right but this game has a strange feeling about it . I am in Townsville at the moment, the Boys looked sharp and upbeat at the Sports Reserve last night , but the weather is a bit weird
Cold- favors us , as hot humidity will be non existent
Wet favors them , just a little bit of rain around makes for a Forwards battle.
State of origin they have a lot of candidates which are board line but yet to impress, is tonite the night?
Papers are talking up the Cows chances ( nothing new about that )
The Refs prefer home ground advantage - favors them
