It's to encourage them to' change their ways'. The more offences, the more loading, eg Craig Smith and LOD come to mind as players that spent a fair bit of time out due to ongoing indiscretions, so they end up going to Super League as no one can take the risk of them being out for extended periods.

Yeah I know, but I think 12 months is good enough. If it was a player who had a clean 2012 (which I realise is not the case for Jarred), but had a charge in early 2011 for instance, I think it's excessive to add loading to a charge in 2013.

I think the 1 point discount per min of send off time is token at best.

IMO if you're sent off you deserve a weeks grace after your sentence has been handed down.

It's a massive thing, even 10 mins with 12 men these days.

Anything more than three weeks for a tackle which had no malice in it is ridiculous. There was no intent to hurt the player and the player was falling in the motion of the tackle.

JWH is no grub. Isaac Luke and former Melbourne cheats like Adam Blair and Sika Manu do grapple tackles, Cannon ball tackles, chicken wing tackles and rolling Pin tackles, which have serious consequences. This was not one of those.
