Yep. Even double bay and vaucluse I've been hearing of late. Their breeding frenzy has been uncontrollable unfortunately.

Have the Roosters ever had a local junior who made it to 1st grade who grew up in Rose Bay, Point Piper, Vaucluse, Double Bay or Watsons Bay?

This whole juniors thing is a farce. Every young player playing the game is a junior of Rugby League so they can end up playing for any of the 16 clubs. It's whats best for the League not whats best for some club with heaps of juniors.

                Craig Salvatori?

Played for the Nelson Sharks and think he might have grown up in Rose Bay.

I remember when Double Bay, Rose Bay etc played A Grade in the Easts comp in the 80s.

Was a bloody strong comp then. I'm sure others on here would remember the days when Waverley Oval was packed on a Sunday arvo.

Nah, Salvo grew up in Pagewood from memory, but did play for Nelson. Dally M himself grew up in Rose Bay.

As for Waverly Oval, weren't they the days...the 1985 A grade GF in particular will live long in the memory.

United played the Coogee Bay Hotel and won in the last second thanks to a sideline conversion from Wayne Miranda (former Balmain 1st grader).

The first half featured a massive all in brawl hence my memory...the overall standard of the game was damn good too.

Yeah there was always grade players going back to park footy.

I remember Colin Ward coming back from injury at Waverley Oval. Geez he copped some strong defence. Angelo Dymock was playing in that game. They reckon he was more talented than his younger brother just didn't want to go through the grind.

I'm sure stsae might be able to give us some old Waverley Oval stories.

The youngest Dymock, Milton, was the most talented...didn't quite apply himself.

I played against Colin Ward in the late 80's. He played for Neslon as well while I impostered for the Paddo Tigers.

I played for Paddo RSL in the late 60's. Had some good sides back then, we went through to the gand final a couple of times, unfortunately Cloey had a very good side then and won everything.

Did you play against anyone of note? I know Des O'Reilly played for Cloey and you may have come across him at that time, depending on how old you are...
