You would think that East Sydney would be our turf!

This is a boundary issue which is even more controversial than Israel v Palestine!

Despite the fact that the junior league boundaries were changed in the 1960s, I still maintain that the entire area east ofn Anzac Parade is "Eastern Suburbs Roosters" territory.

We just loaned out some of our junior clubs to souffs out of the goodness of our hearts when, in the 60s, it was us who were "juniors rich" and souffs "juniors poor".

Shame in the 1980s and 90s when we asked for the areas back as the situation had reversed, we were rebuffed by the NSWRL!

That red line should go all the way down to Malabar I'd say, to take in the Randwick Council boundaries.

How was this raised on the NRL facebook group? Ie, in what context?

Don't forget plenty of die hard Rooster Fans out in the wild, wild west. My Grandfather and Father lived in paddington and are both Rooster Fans hence the Red, White & Blue blood that runs through my vains. I now live in the Liverpool area, born in 1969 and have followed the Mighty Roosters since. So Rooster Soldiers fly the colours no matter where you live.

          CHOOK, CHOOK, CHOOKIES!!!

The boundaries should have never been changed but it's evident now just how ridiculous it is with Souths currently playing their home games out of the West of Sydney. These Suburbs are irrelevant to the 'South Sydney' Rabbitohs aside from providing juniors which they put no money into...

            Here's an image taken from the NRL's claim your territory promotional campaign highlighting the majority of members in each suburb;

"In the mid-20th century, the southern half of Roosters territory within the Randwick local government area was handed to South Sydney. The NSWRL made this change to 'even the competition' as South Sydney's original heartland, around Redfern and Waterloo, had rapidly industrialised and de-populated. Rabbitohs stalwart S.G. Ball was a dual administrator within South Sydney Rabbitohs and the New South Wales Rugby League at the time. The Rabbitohs were in a highly successful period and had established South Sydney Juniors Rugby League Club in Kingsford, Roosters territory in recent times."

You want to talk about Politis? You want to talk about how we don't invest in juniors, how Souffs does all the right things in terms of developing the game?

How about you look at your own history in terms of ****ing corruption you souffs wankers. This is common knowledge but funny it never gets mentioned when Souffs fans sook about how hard life is and how much they get rorted. Half of our territory got handed to you....and you still cry about us having no juniors. Go fist yourselves.

I have heard Alan Katzmann speak on this a number of times, and he really knows his stuff on this subject. His friend Phil Gould wrote an article back in 2008 (link below) where he basically reprinted an email Katzmann wrote (in part) on this very issue (the rest is a great attack on Souffs), part of which stated:

Local Sydney league boundaries were based on local government boundaries when clubs were formed back in the early 20th century. Souths' boundaries were based on the municipalities of Redfern, Botany, Alexandria, Mascot and Waterloo, while the Roosters' boundaries were those of the eastern municipalities of Paddington, Woollahra, Vaucluse, Randwick and Waverley."

However, that email didn't detail those parts of the City of Sydney that the Roosters now have in their territory, north of Oxford/Liverpool Streets and east of Sussex Street, that was not part of the Glebe territory taken over by Balmain, or that part of the South Sydney territory from the City Of Sydney south of Oxford/Liverpool Streets, which again did not go to Balmain. The original email which I still have did reference this but must have been edited out of the Gould column, to keep it to an acceptable word count.

Wooloomooloo and East Sydney played in the Easts comp back in the day when they had teams. Rusell rowe has claimed this area when he was living at Wooloomooloo as Souths territory, it must of annoyed him living there as it was a Roosters junior area.
Anyone who has been to Mascot airport can be claimed as a Souths junior.

That's right. That is the part of the City of Sydney territory that I refer to above.

Not sure if that was directed at me, but I'm on your side.

To clarify, I agree 100% and I've argued this very case many times.

Do you have the Facebook link? Ie, who posted it?
