Mack, you have lost the plot - all those squads and stats have eaten your brain dude.

Jason Ryles peaked 4 or 5 years ago. And even then the highlight was watching him play the ball backwards.
We may as well have signed The Sorensens.

The point is, he has a bit of experience, and a high workrate. Until Boyd Cordner or another young bloke is ready, he is better than the other options going around.

Didn't they say in yesterday's telecast the Shane Tronc wasn't signed for next year?

I'd rather him than Ryles. Good for 30-35 tackles, plenty of hit ups, can offload. Wouldn't be that expensive.

            Tronc is going to England

Ryles would be worth a go. He had a very good season last year

Not sure about Ryles. We need someone who is on the up at the moment and that is still developing. But I agree, he is better than what we've got.

I asked one of the boys straight out last night, and he said it is definate......I trust every word he says as gospel....he wouldnt know how to lie....and has plenty at stake in the fact.......

The same player said he has never met the new boss, so I guess this is going to be a very interesting week allround.....

Ryles is a heap of shit.
Makes more mistakes than tackles, he would have fitted into the team this year wonderfully.
It is no conincidence he was punted the year before Bennett joined.

Singing him would prove to us something we thought impossible - that it could get worse

                    Ryles is a beast.

Chokers just liked to blame him for their failures.

That comment didn't wash with me so I went and crunched some numbers

In 156 NRL games Ryles has made 120 errors which is less than 1 per game

He also averages 134 metres and 23 tackles per game

Pretty good stuff over a fair career

Certainly better than our current crop

Ryles is not the type of player we need. Just another braindead prop prone to giving away far too many penalties and making errors at crucial times.

We already have more than our fair share of players with the same characteristics.

We need a workhorse forward not a bleeding donkey like Ryles.

Do we have anybody else who can average 130 - 140 metres a game?

go back and watch any game that was the drag queens lost by a small margine and see who gave away the penalty that cost them the game, it would 99% of the time be Ryles.

He is a classic case of the stats over stating the player, a player completely over rated.
He has a huge head and was a significant part of the problem at St George along with Barrett.

As I said, absolutely no coincidence that he was gone before Bennett arrived.

The point is...you missed the point. He is hopeless. he'll cost us more games than FPN and Soliola put together. Mate stop reading teh stats - they mean **** all.

                                Not stats mate.

Ryles is a proven competitor. Yes he is a bit error-prone, but right now we need a toiling forward who will make lots of yards and tackles, to at least try and cover for Fitzgibbon's departure.

He is better than what we have, simple as that.
