The game was played in second gear. It had the intensity of custard.

    No injuries, move on.

    Chook.

I am a big fan of Hoffman the footy player, he has had a few quiet issues off the field of which some have made headlines and some haven't.. I was surprised he was pushed a side for Corey Norman at the end of last and start of the year, but over last few games you can see how much more Norman is bringing to fullback from an attacking perspective than what Hoffman has offered previously for them. Although he would offer more than Mini, I would like us to secure a fullback (or have RTS meet everyone's opinions) who can bring more from play maker point of view.

The game is getting replayed right now on fox sports 1, watch SKD's attempt of a tackle on GI close to the tryline around the 65th minute mark if you get the chance.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

        Here's looking at you, kid.

Yeah it was a bad attempt, although i think the fact he fell over in front of him actually helped Hoffman make the tackle. Compare his game against GI last night to every other one he's opposed him in and you'd have to agree GI was quiet. Obviously there is other factors than come into that but I think its still valid. And there has been a lot better defenders get owned by GI over the years, nothing new or exclusive to SKD there.

Yeah Yak, GI was quiet as he is battling a knee injury and Thurston is carrying an injury so he was unable to feed him the ball as much as usual in a rep game. I understand you mate that SKD is not alone in that department when it comes to GI, it's just that I expect more of SKD.

I never said rooster09 that SKD got owned in that game, as I said I thought that he was quite good in the first half. GI was mainly quiet in the game, not due to SKD's 'brilliant' defense, but because he is carrying a knee injury and Thurston who feeds him the ball is carrying an injury. My whole main focus is on that one moment of the match which shows up the mental deficiency that SKD has in his game. As I said SKD was backing away from GI shitting himself and allowed GI to easily steamroll him and he was going to score if it wasn't for the outstanding effort by Hoffman to save the try. SKD is not willing to put his body on the line, that is the major concerning issue! How would you be feeling if we are playing $ouff$ in a grandfinal or a grandfinal qualifier in a close game and you see SKD doing the exact same thing and allows GI to score a soft try costing us the game? I know I for one would be totally pissed off beyond belief! He needs to fix this mindset of his, get more aggressive in defense. When defending close to the line he must move up and drive his shoulder into the man with the ball, put his body on the line.

Imo you can't say that SKD had a top game last night. Yes he was good in the first half, but the second half he dropped a bomb, gave away a stupid penalty and made a pathetic attempt of tackle on GI which very nearly led to a try. I will agree with you though he was very good against the bull$cum and hope to God that he plays more like that than what he did in the second half against the Aussies.

Correction, I meant to say that GI is battling a hip injury, not knee injury.

i agree with you oracle i probably like most supporters was nervous about his ability to to defend a rampaging inglis , im hoping apart from the loss it would have done his confidence alot of good for us in the coming weeks and for the rest of the year , i think his attack will come again , and that fitzy will continue with his defensive flaws , its the wrestle in the game i think grapple first legs 2nd its bad for the fundamentals of the game ie tackling

I am comfortable enough with his attack, it just needs a little fine tuning which I am confident will happen as the season wears on. It's his defense which still needs work on. As you say rooster09, Fitzy will need to work on his flaws. He needs more aggression in his defense, and some common sense such as when you are defending close to the line like he was in that moment of the 65th min mark of the test match, you can not afford to be backing back, you must move up and drive your shoulder into the man with the ball.

As the old saying goes you are only as strong as your weakest link. It is no secret that he is our main weakest link in defense and so he is the main target for the opposition, so we need him to lift and continue to improve so that by the back end of the year that weak link will be strengthened.
