No I'm pretty sure he's signed on for us for next year on absolutely nothing. His salary comes out of the second tier cap as he's not part of the top 25 squad, so he gets nowhere near the minimum wage like the fulltimers get, although he trains just as much as them. He got a 3 grand match payment for his debut on Monday and that amount will make up a massive part of his yearly earnings.

Issac wont be going anywhere, the powers to be at the Roosters know only full well how good this bloke is going to be, he'll be resigned and contract upgraded before too much longer.

I am sure he will be thrilled that you have chosen to air his what type of wages he receives from the club on a public forum

Thought he did a great job. A very solid debut. My question is he looks rather small for a prop or was it the TV playing tricks? At some stage he was standing next to RTS and he looked about the same size? If he is all the more impressive. Went to the official site to look at his profile and of course there are not any details. Roosters site web management is shocking. Why would you list a player and not have his details. Simply lazy.

I saw him next to moa and they look the same in height but lui is about 15 to 20 kg lighter.

I thought Liu played well. Im a big Evans fan too and was really keen to see him play but am happy to wait.

Robbo has been making all the right noises so far so I trust his call on Evans too. Its hard enough to break into our forwards at the moment, so might as well wait and probably bring Evans in around the rep season when a few of our kiwi boys get called up and that way maybe rotate the forwards around so that they get a decent rest. Am sure Evans and Napa are chomping at the bit to play and maybe th elonger the wait the more keen they will be to get out there... Which will bring more enthusiasm to the squad too.

Also I hope Chooks move in a secure a few of our younger guys who are off contract, including Aubbo.

Moa is 106kg and Liu would be about 104kg I'd reckon. He's always been around that 100kg mark. He might be short but his legs are tree trunks. How good was that last run of his from the kick off! Sprinted back and then tucked the ball up with both hands and braced his shoulder and sent Sandow flying and then kept pumping the legs. Our prop rotation is very impressive this year. It certainly helps that our senior prop in JWH is close to the form player in his position with Moa not far behind. Kennedy may not be as damaging as he was in early 2011 just yet but he's still making over 100m a game and 30 tackles. If he can get the mandatory penalty out of his game that would be even better. Tasi is probably not far off either. He appears very fit and if that knee issue was affecting him last year and that has been fixed he could be devastating for us. I think if Liu and Tasi get time in first grade then they might use Evans as a bench second rower the way the Titans use Taylor. He is big, quick and has an offload so come mid season when his defence and fitness are up to it he could be a weapon coming onto the left edge when Cordner switches to lock after 20 mins. That way we don't lose size either. Then you have guys like Napa and Ailaomai who I have no doubt could more than do their job from the bench. Ailaomai was excellent in the Manly trial running some great wedges and has very good second phase too. If JWH and Moa are both chosen for the test does that mean they will have the week off or is it a stand alone again this year?

Cheers mate, well i guess they would have any time off first grade any time soon. Will be interesting if Robbo employs a rotation policy for the bench props and second rower. Surely you can't have players like Luke O'Donnell and Lama Tasi on the sidelines if they're in good form. Either way it's nice to know that we can cover any injuries with players that will perform their role. Also nice to have a team that you don't feel like is going to be scored against every time the opposition is on your line. Haven't felt that in a while.

Listen to Robbo in the members only section and he says why Issac "Ice' Lui was picked.

Had a tremendous pre-season, was particularly strong and focused in January training, had good trial and Newtown form leading up to round 4. Robbo also goes on to say how he wants players 22-28 playing and training at the same intensity as the NRL squad so they can slip seamlessly into the top playing group ala Ice.

I like listening to our coach talk, he's never not made sense.

                            Chook.

I understand what you're saying mate but it's no secret what players make outside the top 25 - Nothing.

It's also fairly common practice to discuss on forums what players earn and what they're worth and so on.

Plenty of players cop a hard time for not living up to their salaries.

I don't claim to know the exact facts as I don't actually know Isaac, but I do know he is on very little. If anything, I was trying to point out that he should be appreciated due to the fact that he's basically playing for us for nothing.

If he gets a contract upgrade and becomes part of the top 25 squad (this could happen next year) then he will at least get the minimum wage, which, if I am correct, is now 80 grand.

Putting aside the hype and expectation of Kane Evans has anyone actually been impressed with him playing whilst he's been at Newtown?

Isaac Liu was our best forward in the two trials and I believe he deserved a first up start against South Sydney but I am happy that he was rewarded early in the season.
