I wouldnt be surprised if he went to St George, anything over 300k is too much to counter offer. However in saying that he wouldnt be the one Id be looking to offload.

All we have are players who play on the fringes of the ruck. We need someone who can play in the middle as an extra front rower and make heaps of tackles. I've always been a fan of us developing Jake Friend to play that role. Even if he doesn't make as many metres, he can make heaps of tackles in defence, he rarely gives away penalties and he can fill in at dummy half occasionally. I would love him to develop into a Stagg/Fensom/hinchcliffe type of player at lock. I think that we are lacking a genuine worker at lock since fitzy retired. If we had someone like that, it would free up SBW and Aubo/cordner from making too many tackles and allow them to be involved more in attack.
        Davos,
We have just the bloke right under our noses - Rhyse Martin the NYC capt.
Rhyse isn't the biggest in stature but what he lacks there he makes up for in work ethic.....good speed, gets through holes, remarkably scores a try each game and is a decent defender in the Fensom/Edwards mould.
He is a Townsville jnr has been in our system since he was 16 and is well liked. A player with a long future at our club .

What's going to come of Samsioni Langi? Is he a backrower 5/8 or a 5/8 backrower? Of just a 5/8?

You can't be certain about these sorts of things until you see them happen mate. Until Rhyse makes his fg debut and has a break through season like young Boyd, then really he could be anything. We have had some very promising prospects in our 20s. Ethan Lowe, Rohan Ahern, even guys like tommy symmonds and cherro. But until they start to play week in week out in fg for at least a season, then you never know what's what.

I know that FPN has been inconsistent but at his best he has the capabilities of any forward in the game, even dare I say Gallen. Those two matches against the tigpies last year, he single handedly bent the tigpie's forward pack over. He has looked better this season and been making more tackles and getting more involved as a ball playing lock. Until Rhyse makes his debut and has a good run, then I think it will be hard to find a proven replacement without being too much out of pocket.

I say slamming Sam Moa to 13.
Is going great guns, mobile, hits hard and has gotten through plenty of work when on the field. Once Tasi,Nappa and Evans are ready I say give him a couple of games. I haven't seen anything from FPN to warrant keeping his spot this year

Maybe Jwh, A firing Kennedy, Tasi and one of the young bulls at prop and Moa would be bang on the money as a lock. LO'D or FPN as tight forward bench option.

Must be a different Jake Friend, because the one I have been watching over the last few years gives away plenty.

That might be because he is involved in at least twice as many tackles as any other player on the field. The more tackles you make, the more chance you are of giving away penalties or making an infringement . For the number of tackles he makes compared to the penalties he gives away, I think you will find that there is a very small ratio. He doesn't give away stupid penalties like FPN or others in the team who are known for this.

FPN is OK on his day , however consistency seems to be lacking.
