What a game. Great defence, Excellent at taking bombs and great leadership. Who in their right mind would want him out?

lol even tapped the ball on in a backline movement.

If Bradman was capable of getting a duck then I guess Mini's also capable of having a good game.

It's not about agreeing. I for one believe I look at things rationally and analyse someones game and see if it's always their fault or a team or coach at fault. 'Heck' (yeah heck) I was one that thought Finchy was NOT all at fault. Mini isn't what he once was but we don't have any one better at the moment. RTS will be there but the team is working well so there's no point in making changes.

lol what do you want me to say?

My opinions based on watching Mini for the past 3 years have now been blown out of the water because he had a decent game?

No he has been good all year. The thing that mini brings that will be the hardest thing to replace (even now) is his defence. I dont think there is a better player in the game at defusing bombs. His kick returns seem to have a bit more zest about them this year compared to last year and he seems to be beating the first man far more frequently again like his old self. His passing tonight was excellent I thought. The thing that will really help mini's play making is patience and this is a team thing. Imo like pearce, in the past few years, when we havent had proper structure/attacking weapons etc, they have rushed plays and tried to pull off miracle balls when it wasnt on. Tonight mini picked his moments and was far more selective with the type of pass he was throwing and who he was hitting and I really thought his passing game was as good as anyone - that bat-on for jennings was first class.

While he is not and will never get back to how good he was in the mid-2000s, as I have been saying all along, he can most certainly still contribute. His leadership has been great and he is that safe pair of hands at the back that every team needs. He is also a real tryer which rubs off on a team particularly in a captain. Well done mini, its great to see you playing well

Mini was good last night, really good, in fact it was his best game in two years.

I just hope the club doesn't throw him another years extension based on one good game like they did in 2012.

                    Chook.

I believe for sure he is passed it -that is, his best ...Its a matter of of him doing less but providing quality like he did against Parra .H e is struggling in areas which were once natural for him like bringing the ball back etc .
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

The only reason why Mini had such a good game is because he stopped sticking his nose in our attack and let Pearce, Maloney( who btw is proving to be a champ) and sbw control the attack. Apart from that tap over his head, he did nothing in attack other than cart up the ball. No line breaks whatsoever even though parra had heaps of space between defenders through the middle.
                        Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

                          Very well said Roz.

What amazes me is that there are still some who cant even acknowledge when he has a good game. In fact he was supurb last night & i agree, he's been good all year.

I bagged him for his shocker v the Warriors but I give credit where it's due, he played a good game last night.

Hand on heart I still think he should be on the wing but he had some nice touches last night. The tap on for the Jennings try was one of the better things I have seen him do for a while. He also did some decent things in support.

Look we didn't play a strong side but I thought it was one of his better games for a long time. Well played.

I agree mate.. Mini would still be a walk up start on the Wing. He is a lot better than anyone in the backline at Newtown and he can still finish a try extremely well and makes plenty of metres out of dummy half. Playing on the Wing would help reduce his stifling of backline movements, though maybe Robbo had already told him to ease off as he wasn't a focal part of last nights attack. I agree Mini along with Slater is probably the best in the comp under the high ball but it should be obvious to all that RTS is pretty damn good there too and he would offer more in kick returns and being able to bob up in the middle to support forwards or halves popping an offload in broken field given his footwork.
                              ...

Mini, is terrible in defence, except for taking the highball, that's his one remaining strength, and if he is to be retained, then wing is his position, if he cant hold down that position, and I am hoping he can, then sad, but its off to Newtown for him. If on the other hand, he has a good game against the Doggies, I may waiver in my opinion, but only time will tell that.
