I wouldve got rid of Fitzy at the end of last year.

I love the bloke for how hes performed for us in the past.

IMO hes our best player in the shittest year ive ever witnessed form my club. That doesnt mean he is playing that well himself or to the standard he once was able to play.

Weve made errors with signings for the last 5yrs and made errors releasing players in the last 5yrs we shouldnt have.

If we had been smarter years ago Fitzy couldve had an ending like Beaver. Coming off the bench and used as an inspiration, not as a workhorse in a side running last.

That said, I wish him all the best. I reckon he will kill it in the UK. Im shaving my arse for the great marrrrn.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

agree. No doubts as to Fitzy's standing as the Roosters greatest clubman since Kevin Hastings, but he's not the player he once was. Given his contribution over many years, he's earned the right to grab some cash in England before it's too late. Thanks for the memories Fitzy. And just on that, is there a greater Fitzy memory than that 90 metre intercept try against Newcastle in that semi?

For me it was his being part of the best back row I think we will ever see at the club - Ricko, Fitzy and Morley.

Fitzy said at the last game function that he would love to have stayed for a year under Smith, but unfortunately the deal with Smith came after he'd signed to play in England

Its interesting to note weve won about 7 games since then, in over 30 games weve played.

It would be interesting if someone could ask if that was Freddos idea or someone elses and why it was done???

I asked the very same question to a player and his reply was the coaching staff wanted more involvement from Anasta and thought the best way to achieve that was to make him captain. Pretty lame but that was the reason i was given.

Given the 'more involvement' spin was the same excuse Farkwit Fittler gave for putting Braith at fullback I can well believe that was the reason Farkwit Fittler made him captain as well.

No brains, no common sense, no more coaching career.

I agree. He deserved some consideration.

Considering Brian Smith invited Fitzy to speak to the guys at Orientation day I doubt he's happy about the fact Fitzy won't be there.

If you haven't had a look at the video, take the time and go to the Roosters site and view it.

The bloke is an absolute legend and I hope that he returns to the Roosters in a coaching or player welfare capacity in years to come - I believe he would excel at it.

I watched it and you just cant say enough about the guy.

He would excel at anything NC - he has the drive and dedication to success in any role, the question is would we be silly enough to let him get away a second time.

If he is involved at the club for life it will always be a good thing

Nope - the Club gets none of my hard earned whilst Willie Wanka is still on the playing roster.

Non negotiable - not even for for Fitzy.

You know I'm a stubborn old chook.

It sounds simple, but some of my attempts fail when the blasted links refuse to paste, or they don't link to anything.

Give me the wordprocessing packages any day - they're my specialty.
