  • Could Fitzy leaving be becuse of Brian Smith

Maybe it was Brian Smith who told the Roosters he did not want Fitzi at the club in 2010 for whatever reason.

After hearing O'sullivan saying any recruitment would have to be rubber stamped by the incomming coach a few months ago. It crossed my mind that it could be due to a request. As it makes no sense to let him go.

Brian Smith could feel fitzi did not fit into this plans ??

I think Fitz announced his signing with the ESL long before we recruited Smith. I stand corrected though.

Well it seemed so, but what if Brian Smith had a secret deal with the Roosters way before he announced it and talked alot about the teams roster.

Our club was reluctant to give him a one year deal last season, whilst Fitzy wanted more!

Thats pulling a very long bow there RN.

Fitzy announced that he was going to england well before Brian Smith was signed.

Not saying it is not possible...............but...........

Fitzy is leaving, not because of Brian Smith, but because of those that control recruitment. And they had decided when Fitzy was leaving way before O'Sullivan was signed. They didnt want to give Fitzy another year 2 years ago. Nothing to do with Smith IMO.

Fitzy would like to stay because of Brian Smith - but it is too late.

It was obvious Fitzy's days were numbered when Fittler took the captaincy off him last year.

That was long before B Smith was even a glint in Politis' eye.

The departure of Fitzy is a continuation of the farked recruitment decisions the Roosters have come up with the past few years.

Brian Smith cannot be blamed for any of them. Fittler, Politis and O'Sullivan can, and should be

Fitzy departing has nothing to do with Smith...

Decisions like Shackleton, JWH, Conn and Minichello on the other hand.....

I hope the spastic that doesn't 'get it' that you need a couple of tough grinders in every forward pack, is no longer involved in recruitment at the club?

Fity is old, slow and bald, but he's faaarrrkkkin tough.

                      Very true NC.

Its interesting to note weve won about 7 games since then, in over 30 games weve played.

It would be interesting if someone could ask if that was Freddos idea or someone elses and why it was done???

If anything Fitzy is probably wishing he could stay just to see what improvements can be made.

Finishing on the spoon is not what Fitzy deserves.

I took into consideration the timeing but still tryed to connect the dots.

I wonder if brian smith would of wanted him if he stayed.
