I really miss the world sevens getting out to sfs to have a full day of footy and was wondering everybody else's opinion on this. I know it's probably been covered on here before but if the commission is looking at making more money they should look at getting this back on the table.. I know many will say its not worth it due to injuries and such, but if done correctly with a mix of first graders, Toyota cup players and reserve graders I think it will still pull crowds, and injuries are going to happen in trials aswell... I'd love to see rts and oldfield and Other youngsters with room to move and getting a chance to show what they can do in open space.... What's everybody's thoughts on this?????

I would love it. You could even have the Jets and the Bears and some of the other old school clubs involved.
The kids would love it too. Fast flowing, end to end footy. No 'one out' boof head forwards in the way.
Bring it on!!!
Wont happen though.Member 2008 - forever

Do we really need to revisit the 20/20 of RL???
Dead set all I ever got out of it was a sunburn.
I remember when I realized it wasn't fun anymore, a day of 7s, when at the end of the day the mexican wave went up and a farking chicken carcas landed on the seat next to me.
All those nutters out in the sun all day drinking warm piss watching watered down footy, youse can have it.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

A farking chicken carcass, I mean at least they could've left me a wing.
Who takes a BBQ chicken to the footy, eats it, and chucks it in the air and what's the chance it lands in the seat next an Easts supporter???
Bad CoqqKarma I tells ya.

The esky is dangerous, but it's what I'd expect at the cricket on the hill especially.
I believe I'm slightly mentally scarred by the farking chicken carcass though, I tells ya. And it's why I will NEVER vote for the 7s ever ever again.

If anyones interested i posted this thread in the other pages last year talking of same thing...
I am starting this thread in hope of some discussion around what you would like to see the NRL season to look like. Do you want it to stay the same? I thought about putting SBW name in title to attract more viewers, alas I opted against that...
Is mid week origin the best way? Twilight/Night grand final? 26 rounds the best? Internationals? City v Country? Show casing 20's Origin? I would love to see a 7's competition back. Bring back the team relay and individual sprint on grand final day.
I'll start with this....
All Stars Weekend concept.
All Stars Weekend in February celebrating/advertising the return of footy.
Saturday SEVENS - in Sydney have a 7's comp. Each NRL team to field a team. Each team must have 10 players, with a minimum of 3 or 4 of the clubs top 25 squad, the rest under 20's or NSW Cup/QLD Cup.
Split the 16 clubs into 4 pools, where they play each team in their pool once. In each pool the top team goes through to semi final. The two winners of the semi final then play the final. That's a maximum of 5 games for any one club.
Put $100,000 - $200,000 up for grabs, winner takes all. Get some music happening, make it like a day at the cricket.
On the Sunday in Brisbane play the All Stars Match in its current form.
Following year swap them around. 7's in Brisbane, All Stars in Sydney.
