We should have 1 permanent mr fixit. Aubbs or symonds or taka all could become that player in 013, Taka and Symonds seem to cover more positions in a team than Aubbs. Also we should resign Sonny, Pearce, Tasi and Seluini is a great rotation with friend.

I hope so. As I said I recognise his talent but I'm just not sure he has the selfishness to take the opportunities presented to him.

Like Flannery he could cover most positions when aplayer got injured in a game, forwards and backs even 5/8 and we haven't had permanant one of those for a while.

            Seluini at halfback is interesting.
I reckon that Pearce ain't going nowhere.

              Contracts finishing Nov 2013
Pearce, Aubusson, Minichiello, Nuuausala, Tasi, Takairangi, Ailaomai, Seluini, Mortimer and SBW

Pearce - I hope it doesn't drag on all year. I'd love an outcome before start of the season. That way it won't interrupt season or give the DT something to stir about, and if we need find a new half we can start planning. In fact club probably already knows. Thing concerns me is outside of JT what other half old you REALISTICALLY want as our 7, or 6 with Maloney at 7?

              Mini - Retire.

FPN and Aubs - One is a game breaker when he's on, and when he's not (which happens far too often) he is here nor there. The other has overall given us many years of solid consistent service, but is by no means an X factor. One is a prop who has moonlighted as a backrower, the other a backrower who has moonlighted as a centre all too often. We are full of back rowers, and light on experienced hardened props.

Ailaomai, Taka and Tasi - lots of potential. One/Two of them needs to fulfil it this year and beyond.

Seluini and Mortimer - great for depth in halves/hooker/utility role and I expect Seluini to REALLY push friend at times this year. And with little coming through in halves area I think we need to have both in the club or suitably replaced.

SBW - To hard basket. Leave that to uncle nick.

              Thoughts?
              It depends on the finances.

Reading the other day that Mini wants to play on another year worries me because I know the hierarchy will have him in FG even though he is not included in the cap.

I think Takairangi will have to move on if SBW stays on & that Bosden will move on because of lack of opportunity, I think to accomadate Pearce SBW Jennings Cordner JWH SKD Maloney & RTS moneywise guys like Cherro, Ailaomai & possibly Tasi will also have to move on they have Evans & Napa coming through not on much money at this stage you would think.

I think the Roosters rate Friend as the No 1 hooker so after this year I can see Mortimer or Seluini moving on as well. Guys like Moa & Arona are probably on minimum wage so they are more attractive especially with Evans & Napa coming through.

I would keep Aubusson & FPN they have both played around a 100 games or more in FG & if they were given long game time in the forwards they both have something to offer. Im interested to see how FPN plays with SBW in the team. I actually thought behind Guerra FPN was our best forward last season.

Yes - Pearce, Maubs, SBW, Seluini, Tasi and FPN (on a 1 year contract only. Sick of seeing him perform when he's playing for a contract, then not giving a **** for the next 2-3 years).

No - Mini (he's a legend but he's just not up to scratch anymore), morts, Ailaomai.

Unsure - Taka. Don't get the hype about him, sure he's got a good offload but that alone is not good enough to play FG. His defence is absolutely diabolical, he makes SKD look like a legend. IMO it all depends on Cherro. IF (and that's a big IF) he can stay fit and get back on the park taka can go. Cherro offers everything taka does with a little added class, plus a good defensive game.

Pearce: Really hope we re-sign him. I think our team of the future will be built around him. We have put that much time into him already it would be a waste to let him go. But saying this he will be offered big money if he wants to shop elsewhere. I think Nick needs to sign him ASAP. Plus we have signed some big names, will we have the $$ to sign him for a few more years?

Mini: Yep definitley let him retire. Hopefully being made captain wont encourage him to want another year... He is one of the few weeknesses in our team. Although he does provide experience and a bit of maturity.

FPN & Aubs: FPN is too unreliable, we have plenty of other forwards so I would let him go. Aubs, see how he goes...if he can find his 2010 form then sign him but if he has a similar season to 2012 then let him go as we have plenty of second rowers ready to fill his spot.

Seluini & Mortimer: Definitely sign Seluini, we need him off the bench and as a back up for friend. Mortimer, not sure what sort of money he is on...but he isnt playing many games and should only be re-signed if he is played for under $200k.

                  SBW: Get on that.
