Who really knows at this stage.

New coach, new ideas and at this stage our roster for 2010 wouldn't be finalised as yet, so we don't know who he's competing against for the positions.

And there's also off season injuries that could occur.

Personally I'd like to see him in the halves. But if we sign Carney that may or may not happen, depending if Carney can stay of the grog and out of trouble.

          let's please cut him some slack;

          - he give 100% everytime he plays
          - he's tough
          - he's 12
          - he's a shortass ranga

He is a 5/8, but the modern game probably won't let him play there.

          He'll make a good interchange 5/8,centre,hooker,1/2,fullback.

            Too short for fullback.

            Too small for hooker.

            Our 5/8 will be Carney.

            Wasted on the bench.

That leaves centre so that may be where he ends up.

              - interchange = same as injury in the moden game, my fault for not explaining

              Too small for hooker
              - diagree, off the bench after 30 min, he'll carve it up, look at all the halves that have become good hookers over the last 10 yrs, it's been an evolution of the size and speed of the game.

              Our 5/8 will be Carney
              - he might get on the cans again, or get injured, then what? I call it insurance

              Wasted on the bench
              - utility that can cover several positions of there is an injury.

That leaves centre so that may be where he ends up
              - the only position I don't want to see him in, too small, defensive only. All the good attacking centres these days are 185-190cm and 90kegs+

Not sure how many of you know this but he is a huge Chooks supporter... you can just see at the end of the games how shattered he is... a lot of blokes I'd drop before him... maybe to prop with Pearcey, what do you reckon?

i think jones is a very under rated player to be totally honest.

While alot of people expected the massive wraps that were initially put on him to come to fruition, in a side that has been very poor this year, he has definatly been one of the best of the bunch.

Jones defence is very strong, he is a great one on one tackler.

His attack, he has some good attack, we have not seen much of it unfortunatly, centre is not the best position to show the flare you have as a half.

Next year is a new page, who knows, we could see the best of the Rangariginie yet !!!

Symonds is way better imho even at 5/8 which is where they both normally play

See to me, symonds comes accross as a fitzy type player. good skill, but a real hard worker.

His good at 5/8 in NYC Muzz takes better options than Jones did at that level from what I have seen.

Symonds at 6 and Pearce at 7 would work imho

Must admit I see Symonds as a forward more than a half, probably because he's a tall and well built lad compared to young Ben.

Both are signed up for the next few years so plenty of time for both of them to cement a spot in the 17.

see i was surprised by that coz i think symonds is like tall and lanky but powerful where as ben jones is a little nugget. That makes me think of symonds more as a centre and jones more has a 5/8

Symonds has backrow written all over him. Benny Jones I'd play him off the bench as a utility he could fill in at hooker, halves or centres. James Aubo wouldn't be in my top 17.
