Just from my observations in modern times & I have NO problem with it but I wonder why coloured players want to play or try to play 2 different sports comparred to white guys.

I dont know all the sports in the world so I have no stats but from my media observations all these sports people like Michael Jordan & this guy Bo, Loti, Wendell, Will Chambers, KMH, Issy, SBW even Usain bolt is talking about having a crack at first class cricket are coloured comparred to white guys who try 2 different sports.

What about sticky,oconner,matt rogers mickey? Also aussie tennis player scott draper who now plays golf and again i forget her name but the girl who had to choose between the aussie soccer team and the cricket team, lauren eagle too.

you reckon they will get any games in this season ralphy? Would be good to have a short season for my maple leafs cos they usually start the season well and then fade away, hopefully with a short season they cld fade into the finals!

Scott Draper wasn't a bad tennis player at all but he is an ordinary golfer. Someone who has crossed over into golf is former test batsment Dean Jones. He is playing in Seniors events and I believe recently placed 3rd in something like the Victorian Senior PGA. He is just playing smallish events mind you but he is going well and performing better than some former well known pros. He definitely finished well above former British Open runner up Mike Harwood in a recent event.

Ever had a dose of reality? Well here it comes. Listen up! You need to learn about the game of hockey. IMO there hasnt been a single afro American that could mix it with the likes of Tie Domi, Brian McGrattan, hell, even Chris Neal or Zdano Chara could hold their own against the likes of a Donald Brashear or P.K. Subban.

Do some research before you try to educate someone who has lived in Nth America and sat in the front row at many NHL games. There are currently 28 black players in the NHL, 14 of which are bi-racial so lets make it 14 if you want to talk true bloods. There are a total of 600 front line NHL players over the 30 franchised clubs. That means 2.3% of the entire NHL playing roster from last season is black so your 'currently plenty of black guys' statement is basically dribble.

I would like to thank you however for reminding about that site. Ive been starved of of a good NHL fix over the past few months thanks to the bloody lockout. I was there during the 04-05 season lockout and saw what it did to the fans so I hope they get this sorted soon.

and thats the thing, it is very hard to play in the top echolon in both sports, even jordan did not play in the majors, but it still was an achievement. i think draper was rubbish at tennis as well as golf but just put him in cos he came to mind. wonder if ponting may take up golf professionally now?

I used to find gridiron the worst, but now one of my favs, college football is nuts with the crowds,bands and scorelines of over 100 points.

It is incredible isn't it. I said in an earlier post I used to play in the NBL. One of our players, and my best man, was a naturalized African American. Damon lowery. My best mate and a great basketballer, who's favourite sport is the NFL and college football. Damon told me that it is actually written in the U.S. constitution that the NFL cannot be played on a Saturday. Only Sunday. (And obviously Monday night's and fro nights.) This is so college football is protected. The bottom line is that those kids, college football and basketball in particular, are unbelievable athletes. And in particular, the college basketball can be a lot more entertaing as those kids give their all every game. With the NBA playing 82 games you can see some nights they are just going thru the motions and a loss is not a big deal.

I think its actually the fastest team sport in the world and yes, its fantastic to watch it live but its also great to watch on the tele as you get some very good education as to whats happening within and around the game. I moved to Canada a few years back not interrested one bit in ice hockey and in fact, from a field hockey players perspective, I hated it but after living there and being exposed to it like I have been, I came to learn that it really is an amazing sport. The skill of the players to combine so many diciplines into their sport is mind blowing.

Another added bonus is the absolute show they put on in getting out there. The pre-game entertainment is like a rock concert and when they players take the ice, each one is introduced indivdually to thunderous applause and screaming from the crowd. They also still respect their heritage and respectfully play both the US and Canadian anthems before every single game. A NHL game is truely a must do thing to see for any sports fan IMO.

In some ragards yes but they are smart enough to make some pretty good coin doing what they love while putting on show for the fans so they have my respect!
