People are always critical of big units. They always demand they don't run hard enough or hit hard enough.
What they fail to realize is their job, usually in tight and up the middle, is very very demanding and tough. Mentally as well as physically.
I cringe when is see and hear people call 1st graders soft. Especially forwards.
I bet most of those people who are overly critical of forwards especially haven't had the job of hitting the ball up 20 times a game straight into blokes their own size, one out often, and knowing they are going to get creamed and have to get up quickly play the ball correctly and face the same mission again. Then they have to tackle the same big blokes who have just creamed them.
It truly isn't easy and anyone who has played the role at any level will know exactly what I'm on about.
People have to realize just because you are big doesn't mean your body is any stronger than anyone elses. Being big doesn't make you immune to injury or pain. Shocking but true.
Mose is young for a pig. He is only grasping the mental side of the game IMO. He has suffered neck injuries most of his short 1st grade career so far. MK is in a similar boat. Patience is in order IMO.
Remember the pillow??? It took years and he copped so much shit from our fans now we all want him back.
Even Tamou. Sure he had a great season but just last year he was average. It takes time with a lot of pigs.

You know it makes sense.

And as for Mason, he's exactly the type of player Mose is. The expectations on those blokes by us fans is unrealistic cos we don't walk in their shoes.
The front row is the toughest gig in footy. It's physically dangerous and mentally damaging, especially at that level.
I respect your opinion though mate.

What I like most about those pictures is that our discipline seems to have improved as has our completion rate. I didn't see ONE dropped ball. I'm liking what Robbo is doing already.
Not much talking going on though. Very quiet. I guess they haven't named a captain yet.
We are gonna win the comp for sure, based on these pictures alone.Member 2008 - forever
