Distance from Brisbane to Townsville - 1,357 kms. Distance from Brisbane to Sydney - 920 kms. Can hardly be considered a fair outcome for Rooster fans in SE Qld (which is about one third our supporter base) when the interstate game is further for fans than a home game 900 kms away. I'm not sure how many years in row now we've played in NQ but its been alot & we usually cop a hiding. Much better off playing in Brisbane or Gold Coast.

The Broncs for one get good crowds whoever they play so can afford to be choosy.
The Roosters don't get a choice as to who they play in their away games, all clubs nominate the teams they would most like to play at home and a computer programme does the rest, and the best it can with the information it is given.
NCSupporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

SE QLD have 2 sides within about 40 mins drive.
They both receive 12 home games a season.
With 24 games played in that area each season and 14 other teams one would think each team would get at minimum 1 game in the SE QLD area each season.
I'm sure the draw could be made to accommodate such a basic component, minimum 1 game in SE QLD every season for every team outside that area.
Surely in the professional era players and clubs are used to catching a plane for a little over an hour to play a game each season. It's really not such a bad trek to SE QLD from Mascot. I'm sure the club knows how to get the players up for a game under such conditions.
It's really funny but it takes longer to drive to many of the Sydney grounds than to fly to SE QLD. So really playing 1 more away game in Sydney as opposed to one of them in SE QLD isn't really a worry???
It's the fastest growing area in the country SE QLD. Families move up here in large numbers weekly. RL is the major sport in the SE QLD area. Our game sees fit to not take a Foundation club, with reportedly a very large supporter base in the area, and with a human headline on board, to the same area.
And here was me thinking the ARLC had the business smarts area covered.
Fark me even with News fiLTh we had a game a season up here at least.

You know it makes sense.
