That's not the point... Cherry Evans still had a good 2 years. You can be critical of every player for the team they play with. Cherry Evans kicking and passing, IMO, is far better than Pearce. If C.E. was from NSW, Pearce would not get a look in.

I agree that Pearce should be ahead of Matulino and that Hodges should be over both Morris brothers. John Sutton did have a really good season, but IMO shouldnt be there (and isnt).

On another note, remember that in the past State of Origins matches, Pearce has ALWAYS been put ahead of gidley for a spot in the halves

IMO, he is a far more natural and instinctive footballer than Pearce. Probably a bigger game player as well (disclude the Melb prelim, the whole team had a shocker).

Pearce has a better skill set though and i guess the stats show this.


But as of now, DCE is still better than Pearce IMO. We'll get a better view of how good/bad Pearce can be next year with a new team. It's make or break. No more excuses regarding him not having a 5/8
