You'd find somewhere to play him.
Let's not forget that Wing was a disaster at fullback. Couldn't catch a bomb to save his life. If we play Cooper at fullback, he will be the focus of every teams game plan. I dont like it. Are we going to have another experimental year or are we going to have a decent crack? Cooper is a half or 5/8. He is a ball player who has a decent amount of skill and could be dangerous with the extra space but as we all know, his defence will be tested. I am assuming he knows the rules...does anybody know if he has ANY league experience?

Quade finds himself fielding lots of high balls, as do most fly halves/scrum halves the way union is played. At times with as much pressure as he would get in league, most of the times with less pressure. He spills his share of them but it's something coachable. Positional play is another thing tho. Personally I think we will be fine without him, but as an athlete and footballer I respect what he does and can do.

he's played defensively at fullback for the reds/wallabies.

imagine cooper and RTS sidestepping their way around the field.

You've seen him play exactly how many games of league recently? Is he worth more than any other player in the comp based on current form?
SBW ruled the roost five years ago because he was one of a very few 100kilo+, 6ft 4, athletic Adoni, however todays wide running forwards and average centre is around the same size, most teams have four or five players that fit the status of a SBW, so he wont rag doll players or get things all his own way in the NRL as he did five years ago. Actually I thnk SBW will be a little shocked on how fast and brutal the game has become, and this will not suit his injury prone history.

That's a dumb reason to buy a player

I back SBW to still carve a swathe through opposition defences. You can believe what you want about the back rowers and centres being bigger and better but name me one that is the complete package like Sonny-Bill.

There is no doubt he was on fire a few years back. I am a little curious. For me, it's like a Led Zeppelin reunion gig. You hope for the best but deep down you are expecting the worst.

Killer step when he is on his running game is unbelievable, good goal kicker consistant with the red not with the wallabies

None of them how a candle to sbw at his best.

                      • Why go through this whole youth policy and then buy a player like Quade Cooper???
Here is a better solution, if your going to spend $800,000+ for SBW and then what, $300,000 which is probably what he will ask for, on 2 blokes who will be here for 1 year, put it towards trying to lure Farrah and Tamou here. Both are not interested in farking off after next year, fixes a big hole in our roster(creative hooker) and added muscle up front.
A big N- farking- O to Quade for me. A PR's nightmare and a average union player at that who would struggle with the intensity of league IMO. All the time, effort money we would waste on Quade and for SBW could be spent better elsewhere on players who will be here for longer then 1 yr

                        • I agree we should be throwing what money we have to get Farrah if he's available, even if it means we miss out on SBW.

                          • I'd much rather Farah also but there's no way he's leaving the Tigers, he's a tiger through and through. There's even less chance now that Sheens has been punted.

Even Mini is more consistent than Hayne and better under the high ball, JT, J.Reynolds, Maloney, Widdop, Foran, Sutton have all become better than Marshall, Lawrence???? Had potetnial next year will be apart of the wooden spoon team and Paulo AVERAGE.

I dont agree on Cooper either I dont want him weve already got halves and fullback spots covered but when you say something please dont contradict yourself it looks silly. You talk about overated and inconsistent players and mention Marshall, Hayne and Lawrence lololololololololol

Are you for real, complaining about contradiction, mate you have seriously lost it now. I read your post 2 to 3 times because you make **** all sense. You are the king of contradiction

Mini is more consistent than Hayne? Really? Consistently crapper maybe...

John Sutton better than Marshall. One of your finest, that one. John Sutton isn't better than anyone, my dog included.

The point is was making, was rather than spend all that money on 2 blokes who MIGHT make the grade, why don't we spend it on tried and trusted league players. You don't rate Benji Marshall, that's fine....but personally I don't think Quade Cooper is good enough to carry Marshall's bag.
Even though Mini is deadwood he has had a better season than Hayne. Yes Hayne made Origin but think about the regular season. Remember rivalry round Dogs vs Eels. Reynolds kicked a ball and he scored under his nose. And if Hayne was good Eels should be in the top 8. This proves Hayne is s shit player. All fullbacks bar Zillman and Moltzen are better than Hayne. He is a has been and Mini is way better under the high ball. Mini was one of our best players until round 22. True story.

Sutton isnt among one of the best and his past seasons have been poor but he has had s great season this year should make the Kiwis squad ahead of Benji IMO. Strong runner and has been playing well for them. Still think he is a lock. Benji is talented but has no direction Pearce is better in fact most 5/8 in the top 8 are better bar Mcrone. Have you seen him play this year. He grabs the ball runs sideays to find a gap if he doesnt he just passes it backwards extremely unefficient. Instead he couldve gone to Woods or Galloway and made metres instead of trying to use some occasional magic. Occasionallyq he passes a good pass to set up a try thats about it.

                                Benji is verrrrrry overated.
