I'm all for signing Quade, even with his recent injuries. The NRL should be all over this too, it would be a massive coup poaching one of the ARU's biggest stars.

I would like him but not on our team because we dont have enough cap space and his defence is a liability

I went to see the test at the Gold Coast last week. Berrick Barnes was subbed late in the game and the Wallabies had a conversion to take and Cooper walked up to take it. You could sense a tone of dissatisfaction from the crowd considering the game he was having. All of sudden Beale steps into the picture and tells Cooper hes going to take the kick. The crowd cheered loudly at the change of kicker. Even another supporter said to me that we could have him at the Roosters. Coopers was Argentina's best player.
Whilst I supported the news from SBW a couple of weeks ago to have QC in the NRL, or here, now I'm not so sure. I think QC lacks confidence and unless you have a very inspiring coach, like Bellamy or Hassler, all were going to have is trouble and a waste of cap.

            I tend to agree.

He had one good season with the reds where he proved that he's got the goods to with a S15 final (which IMO is actually harder than an NRL final because you have 3 countries involved which are all very serious about their rugby.)

After that he had a rubbish world cup and has been plagued by injuries/a lack of any real form.

            My questions would be:
            - Is Sonny Bill as good or even better than an awesome coach? He can provide friendship (so that Quade gets cocky/confident again), mentorship and a matching level of talent (allowing Quade more creative freedom.)
            - Is Quade that good, or did he just get lucky for a season? For example Hayne (who don't get me wrong, is good) nearly won the Eels a GF. Since then he's had a few injuries and hasn't been THAT good.
            - How much, and how much do we have left under the cap?

More than likely he is referring to Japan.

Highly unlikely considering he is back in for knee surgery next week.

It's amazing how underrated Hayne still is, I guess he just doesn't play for the right club.

I just don't think Cooper can defend, I also don't think he is mentally tough.
Alot like Carney I think when things are good, its good, when things are bad they just don't have the mental toughness to pull through,

After offloading some top end talent (and that man who went to the tigers) we would have over a million left. Mr. Maloney, the islander forward whose name has escaped me and Be Like Mike Oldfield wouldn't have cost much at all.

Quade wants to come, along with Mr. Williams then I welcome them.

I believe that Sonny Bill will make Quade focus. A focussed Quade would be a weapon.

Quade has some great attributes that we need top kicking game, great passing game and is a top notch goal kicker but his defense is suspect but so is SKD'S the other major concern is his knee he's reinjured it again.

The impact of the defensive hits are much bigger in league. How would he handle being smashed by a few big forwards? Thats my concern. Everyone can see that he has ability, but in the NRL you need the toughness. He will be competing against seasoned NRL players who will be looking to find him out. SBW is better equipped for the change with his previous experience and intimidating physique.

I would have Hayne in a heartbeat.
