From the interviews I believe Robinson will help Pearce finally reach his instinctive potential.

Pearce is not the most intelligent player and Smith probably would have got more out of him if he did treat him like a robot - ie give him a strict game plan as he has trouble thinking for himself under pressure.
Upon his debut in 2007 he showed many promising signs, and yet many weaknesses. Over the first few years I had the thought of giving him time and letting him develop as all players take time to develop. But since then I have came to the realization that Pearce will become a good player but never a great player. He will be in the Wallace, or Kimmorley category of halfbacks where he has some good games, but he will never be a Thurston or Lockyer type of player where he can organize an entire team's attack, and in fact even guys who made their debuts after Pearce, like Foran and DCE are already way above him.
I don't know whether we can blame Anasta or the coaches he has been under, but there comes a time where you either decide to keep kidding yourself thinking a player will come good or you accept that a player will never reach a certain level. I am closer to the latter with regards to Pearce. I have seen many players come through our system over the last 30 years of supporting our club to know how good a player will get. I will eat spoonfuls of humble pie if I am proven wrong on Pearce.
This is why I think that his suggested asking price of $600,000 a season is ridiculous. He is no more than a $400,000 player at best.Comment of the year:

He doesn't get involved in bidding wars.Comment of the year:
