Still hate Sean Garlick for dropping the ball cold on the 4th tackle just as we were working into position to kick the match winning field goal. We had two of the best exponents of the field goal around in Freddie and Walkabout. Garlick got us to within 40m with 2 tackles to go and loses the fricking ball, Manly go up the other end and Field kicks the match winner!
What about Elsegood getting held back in that QF against Manly?

I still think Freddy grounded that ball under the sticks too.

Once on this day I went to the public dunnys down Bondi and read:

      Here I sit broken hearted,
Tried to shit and only farted.

      So poetic.

      The FlogPen .

      You know it makes sense.

When did we rack up nearly 60 or so against Souths?

Pretty sure it was that year...

I think your talking about Rigon been held back by Danny Moore in the 1996 quarter final we had a reserve grade pack that day and Freddy was on one leg we just got beat 16-14.

                  Yeah, you're right.

We would have won the comp had we won that game.

Ah, now that was a day. Hughie scored under the dot and I threw a beer in the air, went all over a copper who handled it well (thanks occifer). Jumped on the Raiders bus after the game and gave em a Roosters chant...great day

Very ordinary.

I was in the members at the sfs watching a chooks game when it was mentioned over the p.a. that reports are coming through that princess Di has been killed in a car accident. One of those, " remember where u were at the time" moments.
I was in a car going to a ALP conference (so long ago, so very stupid) with a current federal senator, his bag man, and the senator's secret boyfriend.

Andrew Walker would have to be up there as one of the greatest Chooks of all time.

                        That fkucking bomb on him.

                        And the step.

                        Joy to watch.

He got held back and we didn't even get a penalty, it was a terrible decision by McBlane and would have been a penalty 10m our right in front. Regardless of the result we wouldn't have gone much further. Freddie only lasted half a game the next week and we got blown off the park by Saints.

Come to think of it, we always had the wood on Wests too.

If only Norths were still in the comp. They'd cancel out the two matches we drop to Penrith every season.
