Whether Taylor has other options or not, to bring him here on a one year deal would be a ridiculous call, and one only Politis could make. It's just such a typical Politis move. Go into the market and pay a fortune for someone who's supposedly near the top of the tree, and expect that they'll have the same results at this basket case of a joint (with Politis sticking his nose into everything) that they had elsewhere.

No last time here...I never said 'he is coming'. I merely state that we need to make an offer, much like Hassler was recruited by the Dogs. Who'd of thought that would ever happen? Who'd of thought we'd get SBW? We are supposed to be the wealthiest or one of the wealthiest club in the comp and we should be able to attract the best. No more trainees or bridesmaids to run the team.

Why doesn't anyone mention Dymock[/B]. He's experienced what goes on at Canterbury. Dont forget we are rebuilding and no one has rebuilt as well as Canterbury who we should model our success on. He has experience under Hasler and has experiened all the Sports Science that gives teams the edge which he can contribute to us, he did quite well in his intermin role at the Dogs got them from 12th to 9th. He also is assistant coach for NSW and is innovative. He fits the bill quite well. if not him Rick Stone who got an ordinafry Knights side to the finals. If not him JT. If not him daylight.

And if we dont get Bellamy we can stick with the intermin coach or stick with Smith assuming he stays and does well or get Neil Henry who I rate highly as a coach.

Why the Fark do you keep mentioning Jim Dymock!!!!!!. The guy has done nothing to prove himself as a regular first grade coach.

He has technically only been a fg coach for half a season. Are you going to let an untrialled coach take over and control a multi-million dollar playing roster???

Whoever is to be coach will need the money to spend on a strong support stuff / structure. They will also need full control over the footy team.

If they don't get that, then we will be in the same position as we are in now in a couple of years time.

Personally I would be happy for Brian Smith to stay on as coaching director while JT coaches. Smith can buffer JT from Politis and (try to) make sure he has a good coaching structure in place. As long as Elliot isn't kept on in any capacity!

if Smith gets the punt in the next 2 weeks it would mean the club has missed out on Bellamy, the question would be then who is the target, I was all for Taylor to get the gig earlier in the season, but now i'm thinking we might need someone from outside the club to come in and shake the joint up a bit, we need someone to toughen up some of our younger players, i'm not sure Taylor is the person to do this.

we need someone willing to send the likes of SKD/Moga to the sandpit for hours on end and learn how to tackle, someone who has the guts to tell Mini its time to move on, someone that can undo the damage Smith has done in the last 2yrs.

Whilst I agree 100% with bringing Bellamy to Easts, let's not start believing he is the Messiah.
Bellamy has failed to get State of Origin and Grand Final teams up for big games.
He is hardly an instant ticket to success.

However, that being said the board should move quickly to clean out the current deadwood of Smith, Elliott and Noyce.

His sides have been in the top 2 for defence since 2005. That'll do me to start with.

Maybe they realised the folly in trying to build a team around a coach who everybody knows will be leaving. If Taylor is good enough to have the job for one year, forget paying millions for Bellamy and give Taylor a decent crack
