It looks like most clubs are factoring in and spending $800k more over their cap in anticipation of a cap increase.
If all clubs do this,it will pressure to ARLC to grant it straight up next season...

that makes sense and they can probably backend the contracts even more now as well i guess.

I have just received info from a keen Dragons man bemoaning the fact that they are about to announce the signing of Mortimer.

I won't cry over it, and I can't believe that they would think he would be a long term replacemetn for Hornby.

so we are hedging our bets on malony as being our savour. james has been average this year and average with the boot.

morts has led the jets around the paddock well and 5 or so guys from that team should be being promoted to the roosters. so isnt it logical to have combinations kept together and familiar players. im sure if you picked a team out of all the australian nrl and picked 1 player from each nrl team , you would have a shit team. but when you put cronk/smith, or bunji/ farrah or other half pearing together is when you get the combinations working.

I agree, with a decent pack of forwards in front of him he will do well. Even Sandow looks like crap at the eels and we are 3rd last so he wouldn't do much better here this year. The Saints have a decent pack so who knows he may surprise a few people.

Yeah fair enough, but in the starts he has had for us, he has only shown himself to be a good support player/runner.

As a half, his kicking and passing options are virtually non-existent and his defence is very poor. I can't imagine him doing anything too special in the not to distant future.
