In defence of Brian Smith

The probelm I have with Smith is that he keeps picking these dumb players week in, week out. When this happens, you have to blame the coach. Let these players spend a few weeks at Newtown, otherwise they will keep making the same mistakes.

Where are the replacements then for these 'dumb' players? Everyone tears our over the hill marquee players to pieces but then our inexperienced young guys are not satisfying anyone it seems either so who do you suggest Brian pick then?

I rate Robbie Farah higher than Friend. Isaac De Gois is also better than Friend and has a better name. What we need is a Kingston/Farah type hooker. I wish Arona played like Dallas Johnson and hope Cordner turns into a Hinchcliffe

I agree! But there are those who will argue it's the coach's job to prepare the players not to do these dumb things. Perhaps he needs to mike up each player and talk them through every move like parents on the sideline in an U8's game? Perhaps they should all carry mobile phones and he can text them at intervals....'remember do not put your hands on the football in the ruck....stand BEHIND the kicker when Braith kicks off.... Couldn't agree more, as per usual these days the players blame the coach for everything wrong with their game, it's never them. Most of them are precious little pussies to used to getting it all their own way.
