The issue with SKD isn't his ability it's that along with Takarangi he's the only one capable of going outside of a structure to unlock the opposition defence. Pearce tries his hardest as seen with the nice set up for the first try but; a) he's not what I would consider a creative player (the majority of tries he sets up are through structures and he's one of the best in the comp at that, but he's not a creative player) and, b) it's way too easy for the defence to pick off one player.
The lack of any attacking spark in the fullback & 5/8 positions means that we constantly find ourselves throwing the ball to Taka & SKD expecting them to create something for us.
If SKD started with that try in a 2010 game and then continued to play a more refined game everyone would've said he did his job well.

This is what Leilua has. Linnett is better IMO but selectors dont fancy the linnett style but fast strike players. Linnett can score and defend but is he fast and strong no.

The Roosters will regret letting Linnett go. The kid used to be a 400 metre runner, so running 100 metres flat out just comes naturally to him. He is a solid defender and can bust tackles.
The Roosters will probably try and get him back towards the end of his career or pay overs to get him back in a few years.Last edited by The Sack; 08-20-2012, 08:17 AM.
