  • what happened to "its bad for business" excuse Uncle Nick

I distinctly remember Uncle Nick using the "its bad for business" excuse as one of the main reasons to why the club sacked Freddy after a string of poor results and off field incidents, surely the current state of affairs at the club can't be good for business, only 8000 turned up on friday night which is one of the lowest NRL crowds of the year. Also the constant media speculation of a rift between players/coaches isn't a great look for the club.

Uncle Nick specifically stated he wouldn't let things get out of control again on his watch, what I can't understand is there seems to be no real internal pressure on Smith to keep his job, FFS we are close to recording our worst run of results in 22yrs, the Roosters have sacked plenty of coaches for far less than what Smith is getting away with.

surely Uncle Nick needs to put his pride aside and make some tough decisions, we simply can't afford another off season under Smith.

Nick needs to retire. He has done some magic things over the past 30 years for us, but he has lost touch....like Smith.

Exactly! We have 4 players that have played over 100 games.
One of them is leaving and the other is Mini.

        This squad needs a leader!

I say someone like Cronk to steer the ship and a quality hooker like
        Farah would be nice.

Nick's pride at hiring Smith is more important than winning.
Nick's pride in promising Anasta the captaincy is more important than building for the future.
Nick's sentiment at giving Mini another year is more important having a fullback that can tackle.
Nick's ego and penchant for rewarding sycophantic spivs is more important than developing a good club culture.

          Chook.

Nick thinks $BW is going to solve every problem, nothing will change until we are running 14th halfway through next season.

Nick is also worried if he ditches Smith that SBW will back out of his "agreement"

                  If that's true, it's a disgrace.

believe it or not Mundine rated Smith as a coach and hence Khoder Nasser was happy to see SBW come to the Roosters while he was coach, of course if that changes all bets could be off.

I understand that might rate Smith as a coach but surely he wouldn't walk away over the coach.

if I was SBW I would be looking at any reason to stay clear of the stench that is eminating from the Roosters at the moment, personally I think he will still come even if Smith is not here but anything is possible.
