What's doing with DCE?

By the sounds of it, DCE will play 5/8 and Sam Walker 7. DCE will be somewhat of an on-field/off-field coach/mentor for Walker (Leadership and Game Management Skills). Sam Walker apparently will still be the main playmaker.

Makes sense with DCE only signing for 1 year. You need Sam Walker to continually develop as a halfback and not be second fiddle to DCE and play as a running 5/8 when he has to take on the playmaker half role in 2027.

It would be a wasted year for his development.

There will be ups and downs, of course, and Sam Walker will always be targeted in defence, but that is all part of his development.

Where has this been reported . Haven't heard anything for ages on the subject .Hope we have backed out if we were ever in .

It's been reported by Fox and in other publications that the likely starting 17 is listed with all pointing to DCE playing 5/8.

It does make sense, as I said, as Sam Walker needs more development and the club sees him as a half, so playing 5/8 would be counterproductive for his development going forward. He won't learn the skills of game management as a half, for instance, if he plays as a running 5/8 with DCE taking on that role instead.

You would see future NRL fullbacks, for instance, as newbies in the NRL playing on the wing and gaining experience of playing NRL before later switching to fullback - Anthony Minichiello / Billy Slater/RTS, for instance, who all started their NRL careers on the Wing.

Sam Walker has now played 86 games, so not a newbie where a secondary role is required to ease him into playing NRL week in week out.

Bates while I don't disagree with some of your points , the effort and angst isn't worth it .He as do you contribute to the threads but let the mods do what they do and as you say sometimes they get it right but sometimes they get it wrong .I have need on here a bit longer that you , or maybe not but in that short time I have seen so much worse a holes that have made there way back .If he does wrong and the mods ban him all good but with vpns ext anyone can return.

Red, here is a something to consider.

In recent times when a member (dearinheadlights) [sic] joined the Pen, he was banned on suspician as it was most likely Rooster 1908 who was at the time suspended for 1 month.

Here's what I'm proposing.

If 3 of the 4 Admin staff think that in this case Michael Jones is most likely King Salvo then they should be banned!

There needs to be a rule in place for when this occurs. This is the fairest and most practical solution.

Creation of or use of, a new account to get round any ban:
When a poster receives a ban all accounts associated with that poster will be suspended for a time equivalent to the posters original ban.
Any poster allowing their account to be used by a banned/suspended member puts their own account at risk.

Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

so, the mods 'reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate ...' they can allow a permanently banned poster to return. that's been the usual rule.

to be fair you're in clear breech of the rules of agenda pushing

Agenda pushers will not be made welcome. If the staff feels that your posts are inappropriately pushy, or repetitive they will be locked, edited or removed and you will be asked to refrain from further posting on the subject.

and criticism of the mods.

Yes the Adidas deal has not been officially announced - I wonder if the players will have to wear Adidas footy boots as some I assume wear other brands and maybe paid for this?

Knowing someone that played for Parramatta Eels back in the day with Asics as a sponsor they could have as many pairs of boots and joggers as they wanted - I helped them out by taking a few pairs of joggers off their hands for the Wife and Kids - reluctantly of course.

Need to welcome DCE though despite varying opinions on whether he should be signed and what the fall out maybe in losing players as a result.

Hopefully the decision will bear fruit as some lately haven't been the best signings - Lodge , Brandon Smith . Townsend for an example
