  • The girls were robbed

No way did that ball touch the ground. The officials couldn't rule on it fast enough. Disgraceful decision.

Shit decision which decided the game In saying that I don’t think Broncos got a penalty in the whole game Upon reflection maybe they got 1

Our girls had 67 missed tackles to their 34. Nuff said.

It's not supercoach. Shows how well they did to hang in. A disgraceful decision from the officials regardless.

if the same mistake had been made in the men's GF it would be talked about for years

Once she went up Try it was impossible to rule against.

Great effort but like the men in 20 and 21 key injuries killed them off.

Yeah and it's awful to see such a great defensive play go unrewarded. How they held her up with the momentum and position she had was phenomenal.

Which is why the ref shouldn't have to have an opinion, if they are unsure. It skews the entire process, by backing the officials into a corner - if we can't categorically overrule (which I still say they could've) then we're stuck with the split second ruling made by someone who had no opinion. It's irrational and stupid to force the on field ref to have an opinion.

There are bodies everywhere, if the ref has no opinion let them say, "I have no opinion" and then have the bunker rule based on the balance of probabilities from the video.

And if they'd done that yesterday, it would have been no try. Which would be the correct decision, because it was no try.

Agree that there was no way of being 100% sure that the ball was grounded unless the Bunker has camera angles that aren't available to us.

The Broncos left centre and five-eighth were very good. Both look extremely masculine.

I still prefer to watch Netball to woman RL however the game is improving. Give it 5 more years and it will become more digestible.

belinda sharpe didn't have a clear view of it. jassy strange was in her way.
yeah, refs should have the option of indicating if they're unsure. maybe blow the whistle and point to the spot like in a try but raise the arm up and down twice. that way the video ref, who had a better view in this case, can decide on a simple balance of probability

We went through that years ago and it was no better. Arguably more howlers by the bunker. I remember once when I think it was Mini where the ball was under his chest with all these hands under him. Ref went up undecided and the bunker said there was no evidence he scored despite no vision of the ball. The probability was about 99.9% he scored. Whichever way they go it is all subjective. Depending how biased you are you will be happy or pissed off.
I thought there were two instances yesterday where the ball likely touched the grass. I had no issue with the decision.
                      Onto next year.

I'm going to take some comfort that we have some debutants in the Jillaroos squad. Especially happy for Jocelyn and she better be goalkicker..

The squad, listed alphabetically, is as follows:

                        Kezie Apps (c) Wests Tigers
                        Ali Brigginshaw (c) Broncos
                        Rima Butler * Roosters
                        Yasmin Clydsdale Knights
                        Keeley Davis Roosters
                        Quincy Dodd Sharks

                        Ellie Johnston * Sharks

                        Tamika Upton Broncos
                        Jakiya Whitfeld Cowboys

I'd say both of their centres look very masculine. Yes we got some dud calls but I do think the Broncos were the better side on the day.... It was just not our day.

Now, I'm not accusing anyone of anything but I am an old dude seeking clarification.

If a person born a woman and transitions to male they wear black suits and take steroids to increase their testosterone. Isn't testosterone (steroids) a prohibited drug? Doesn't that offer an unfair advantage? If a man takes testosterone they would be banned if caught.
Are testosterone tests obligatory in NRLW? We live in complicated times and there needs to be equality across men, women and all in between. Is this a consideration in todays sports world?

yeah but that's just because the video ref was an idiot on mini's try. refs are at least as likely to make howlers as video refs.
i don't know if yesterday's decision was right or wrong but it doesn't make sense for an unsighted ref to decide a try when there is a more revealing camera angle, even if it's only slightly more revealing

I'd say more that (don't even know the positions), the had teo yawnion prop forwards who were fresh during the last 15 and couldn't be tackled.

In contrast we were gassed like a park footy team and really struggled.

It's disrespectful I know but it all looked pretty amateur, including the awarding of a 100% unconvincing try to seal the deal at the end (she wouldn't have had a second swing if she'd grounded it... woulda celebrated... and then there was a hand down there the 2nd time).

Get that it's a growing game but passing the ball to a 150kg blob on the last because nobody can bring them down is like watching park yawnion. The tactics were predictable and bland. We simply lacked the fitness to hold them out for another ~6 minutes. Even after a VERY lucky call on a forward pass + knock-on.
