Was busy with other stuff so didn't watch game live.
Reece obviously had a blinder, and saved what would have been a Melba last minute victory with that tackle on Pappy (if only the ball carrier had dummied...).
But the non sin binning for direct contact with shoulder on head (he wasn't even falling at time of impact as Atkins justified, his height was stable, and in any case they haven't granted a "falling" ball carrier as an excuse in the past, players have still gone to the bin), was consistent with all the other Brisbane friendly "controversial" calls throughout the finals series by the NRL, both by onfield refs, ESPECIALLY the bunker (Vlandys' master invention to manipulate game outcomes), and a very honorable mention to the MRC for their sympathetic calls on broncos players.
It was obvious the NRL had Brisbane winning as part of their business plan.
I tell you, rugby league as most of us know it, ended after our back to back GF wins in 2019.

Conspiracy-free summary: fark Melbourne and Brisbane!!! No premiership awarded to a team other than Easts is worth celebrating about. One for the statisticians that I'll happily forget after a smooth limoncello night cap.
2025 was a bust... bring on 2026...
