  • Luke Keary Return

It was initially reported that Luke was to join the Newcastle Knights Coaching staff but it now looks like Luke will be joining the Roosters coaching staff instead. I assume as Assistant Coach ( Attack).

This could throw a spanner in the works if DCE's contract includes a transition to coaching in 2027, unless he is to be the specialist halves coach, although I'm not sure how that will work if Keary, as Assistant Coach, is the attack coach.

That's great news to have him and JWH back where they belong. I was a bit miff when I heard Keary was going to Newcastle..

not sure what keary's role will be but good to have him back. i'm excited about jwh. robbo always said he coached the players when he was with us so this seems a no brainer. he can help the young guys make the transition from aspiring hopefuls to hard nosed winners

Keary obviously isn't the TACKLING coach. His defense was horrific in his later years. But of course Robbo was happy to ignore it. Even in the Super League he was not up to it.

Too many yes men at our club.

I’m glad he’s going to stay involved with our club. I didn’t like seeing him linked to Newcastle. He’s always been one of my faves.

Michael Cheika was also linked to a Coaching Role at the Roosters so not sure where that is up to.

Coach Trent Robinson will have a sizeable coaching staff in 2026 by the looks of it

                    Matt King
                    Brett Morris
                    Boyd Cordner
                    Jake Friend
                    Luke Keary
                    Michael Cheika*

                    * Linked to a Roosters Coaching Role

I would say the players involved in the Robinson era. But hey, like a thousand times before - I could be wrong.

I'm all for loyalty but where are new ideas going to come from? JWH.

JWH presence around the shed and the club will hopefully inspire some of the young blokes that have looked up, to him to do better .

                              Please be true.

Don't trust in Trent. Trust in Hugo and Walker forming into a fantastic combo.
