I read with interest that Fletcher Baker is released from the Broncos - Obviously our props 1-3 (Collins / Leniu / Whyte) are the main men - but i think our No 4 / 5th prop we are 1 short. Obviously not a big name for that spot - i remember when he left being disappointed as he was showing positive signs. Obviously didnt work out at the Broncos, and would be at a reduced salary - is he worth looking at for that role?

Same as what you said. I remember thinking there was a player in there when we let him go I was disappointed. He’s really done nothing at the Broncs though in what is admittedly a very good forward pack. Hard to take mins off the likes of Haas, Carrigan and even Jensen and Hetherington are really solid hands.
Wouldn’t be asking for much $ but would he really add much to our squad given the emergence of Foketi, Egan B and the return of Nat next year? Wouldn’t hate it but don’t think it’s necessary.

Fletcher is possibly off to English Super League by the sounds of it - Super League are changing the quota for non domestic players that clubs can sign - up to 10 players
The Super League Salary cap was only 2.1 million pounds in 2024/2025 - 4.3 mill AUD. so that would need to be significantly bumped up to attract any NRL players thinking of a sea change.
The talk of the NRL purchasing a 33% stake in the ESL seems to have gone quiet as has the Roosters interest in Salford Reds and renaming them the Manchester Roosters.

No, we've got some of the best young front row talent coming through our age groups right now. Fanafou Seve and DLS Va'a probably the two most likely to crack it next year, both around 20-21.
DLS Va'a obvioulsy had a massive set back with his infection that saw him lose a lot of weight, I think after a full pre-season next season, he will be very close.
Fanafou Seve stepped away from the game earlier this year (apparently fell out of love with the game) but from all reports since he's come back he's been ultra committed and he will be staying with the club for another 2 years so I think a real possibility he cracks First Grade next year if he has a good pre-season. Like his younger brother he's an absolute powerhouse carrying the ball.
Itula Seve & Magele the other stand outs currently at the club but Itula is still eligible for SG Ball next year and Magele only just graduated from SG Ball this year so I'd say they're probably just behind the two previously mentioned.

He struggled to make the run-on side in QLD Cup this year, playing all but 2 games off the bench.
It’s hard to understand why he didn’t progress. He has the attributes to be a decent prop, and certainly showed glimpses while he was with us. He is now 25, and might be just coming into his best years. Worth a shot as a depth signing, but I would still have Losalu and the Va’a boys ahead of him.

I thought he would have had the jump on the others but all very promising.

Tbh in the modern game seems abit slot and cumbersome compared to the faster paced non stop game
also needs abit of the old mongrel to be effective
I’d say super league
as it’s been mentioned we have a huge amount of players coming up
lasalu
Vaa x 2
Seve x 2
plus magele, Uini and toia
hopefully a couple of these guys kick in next year or two as we are really needing that 4th prop as we got rolled against the bigger sides and starting our 3 middles with no bigger bench option hurt us
