I think uncle Nick's comments were very smart.
He showed zero tolerance and was going to tear up the contract until advised with no actual allegations, charges or photographic evidence you cannot do it without potential legal dramas at a cost to the club.

He has also smashed the other clubs who have put their junkies up on a pedestal rather than sanction.

If these are the toughest penalties ever handed down, and far heavier than penalties that other players (like Ezra, Latrell, Pongia etc) received for far worse indiscretions, then surely that's not walking away from taking a hardline !
Yeah that's why I refuse to watch any of those shows.

Watched 360 last night and was impressed with Braith putting the acid on that pro Queensland idiot Bret Read. He pointed out that Rads got a bigger penalty than Ezra who nearly killed someone through his actions.

That annoying Brent Read was saying something similar on 360. On the one hand it’s good Victor gets the chance to redeem himself being a club legend but on the other, all the other clubs and fans have the right to say the roosters punishment is soft! Braith went right off at him.

And saying they wanted to sack Radley but couldn't for legal reasons shouldn't be given on record to a journalist at our awards ceremony IMO.
Uncle Nick would have his reasons.
Just so happened that awards night was the same time as the decision was made and the club's decision announced.
Best to have it in the media this morning, commented on all day by everyone in town, then it's finished by tomorrow, finals footy day...at which time it will be "yesterday's news".

According to Fox the Roosters maybe eligible for a 150k Cap exemption

It has been revealed that the Roosters may be eligible for a $150,000 relief under the salary cap in the wake of the punishment the club dished out to Victor Radley.

On Thursday, the Roosters handed Radley the “heaviest sanction ever imposed on a player in the club’s history” in the wake of his text message scandal.

Banned 10 games without pay, Radley is set to miss out on $150,000 of his salary.

However, despite this, the Roosters will be able to seek out an exemption, meaning the $150,000 they would have paid Radley can instead be put toward other players instead of it counting towards the cap.

Code Sports reported this development, adding that the NRL have confirmed there is scope for the Roosters to apply for such an exemption.

Every time someone mentions it I’m sure the number will be increased from $150k to $1m over time as well as it allways does

Rads won't play 1st grade for the Roosters again imo. Uncle Nick would've sacked him if he could! He made that clear in his statement.

His manager will find him another club and Radley will join them when his suspension is over.

Don't think Uncle Nick has backflipped or softened on this matter. His hands were tied!

                              I'm on team Nick.

Any c*nt that brings the club that my family have loved and supported for more than 80 years into disrepute can fark off.

The roosters experience bias not only on the field but off it via the evil partnership NRL/ Media.
It seems to have worsened since dictator V’Landys took charge after the B2B.
It wouldn’t surprise me that he has professional jealousy and envy towards Nick.
The tall poppy syndrome thrives in Aussie Anglo and Kiwi culture whilst it’s always bemused me in how successful people are jealous and envious of others success a la V’Landys
The whole Radley saga aim was to cause unrest within whilst the NRL / Media were joyed in capitalising on it as they did with Spencer monkey comment and Ch9 selecting him for NSW to maximise click bait and viewers.
All the timing of the media barrage with Vic and Nick was a strategic play by the NRL and Media.
The intent of V’Landys so apparent to me. He can’t meet Nick on Nicks level. Nick has integrity and it’s well known in racing circles that V’Landys has none.
The NRL / Media partnership is Evil / Evil and at people’s expense.
It highly possible that Easts won’t win another premiership with V’Landys in charge of the NRL.
