what exactly did nick say and in what context? it's been reported that he said the club had a zero tolerance to drugs but is that exactly what he said?
did he make any communications to the players? what if the players don't read or believe what is said in the papers?
if other players at the club have used coke is it fair that only rads gets done? what if it turns out that half the team has used coke in the last year? did rads use with others on that week off?

I dont think it was a leak. I think it was prsentented in court yesterday which is open to the public/media. I might be wrong though. Or are you talking about the discussions internally to sack him?

You're not wrong, The specific details were part of a brief of evidence presented to the court as part of the case against the dealer. Appalling that the police didn't redact Radley's name, given he is facing no charges. Radley probably could have done with legal representation in hindsight, who could have spoken to the police prosecutors and made sure that happened.

Mate there's junior pathways at Sydney NRL clubs being run by organised crime and they still get players coming through our clubs pathways will be fine

Depending if there are any terms and conditions are in Victor’s contract regarding bringing the club into disrepute or the like, it may well be that the club will not be able to terminate the contract without a negotiated payout, possibly up to the remaining two years. He’s not a full-time permanent employee, but on a fixed-term contract, so his remaining $1.3m contract value will be the key issue. He wouldn’t be covered by FWA unfair dismissal provisions due to the size of his remuneration; that cuts off at $183k. He certainly would have civil remedies he could pursue.

What’s legal vs what’s practical should be what Victor focuses on though. If Nick digs his heels in regarding his zero tolerance stance, the smartest thing Victor could do is to negotiate a deed of release for a mutually agreed sum, otherwise Victor might find himself sitting on the reserves bench in NSW Cup for two years, which would be quite damaging to his career. He’s still only 27, so maybe take some free cash now and restart his career elsewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if Souths made a play for him if he does go.

What transpires in Smith’s court appearance is almost irrelevant; if the boss wants him gone, he will be gone in one form or the other.

It will be fascinating to see whether Nick back tracks or not. He wants to leave a legacy that he’s proud of, so my guess is not. That will be a sad day all round.

If Vic is fair dinkum, he'll cop it on the chin and ask his manager to find him a new club which shouldn't be too hard.

A big part of what makes Uncle Nick successful and so well respected is his word!

Imo Radley's days as a Rooster are numbered.

If found to be true there will be some very nervous teammates who were on that golf trip with Radley.
If Rads did in fact buy coke there is no way he was sitting by himself in a dark corner of the room doing an 8 ball himself.

yeah but even if you accept that that was an accurate account of what nick said does that change what is in rads's contract? what if rads doesn't read the tele? are the players told they have to read the media for updates to their contracts?
and does nick saying there will be no second chances outweigh the nrl's advice that there should be a warning for a first offence?

rads has bled for the club and deserves more respect. i don't know how common coke use is amongst this group but if everyone who has used it was banned could we put 13 on the field?

What I dont understand is why Rads wasn't nor subsequently charged by Queensland police.From the transcript surely there is enough evidence to lay charges against rads. It makes no sense as rads position looks worse in seeking and obtaining drugs as Brandon's. Why? It's a shame Nick made the comment as Munster, Addo Carr for starters have previously been caught and continue to enjoy NRL careers and melbourne still is highly successful and respected.
