It’s a shame but tbh Victor hasn’t reached the heights he should have and with the ongoing concussion issues I don’t see him really being around much longer anyway? Whether you agree or not with punishment for doing what he did one thing is for sure… Nick has treated Victor very well and made it very clear where he stood when it came to drugs and Victor went and did it anyway.. that imo is a bigger issue and pretty much a **** you to Nick.. so I ain’t too broken up about it. Dumb.

On one hand, Radley hasn't done anything that 90% of NRL players don't already do.
But on the other, Nick drew a line in the sand with his words before the season even started.....it's Victors own fault he either didn't believe them or chose to ignore
As we know, Nick Politis is a man of his word so i expect Radley to be shown the door - Catalans and Hull KR will be short priced favourites.
The other players involved should consider themselves VERY lucky.
We already have ready made replacements for Radley in Connor Watson/Nat Butcher, i personally wouldn't mind seeing Hugo Savala spend some time there in the pre-season especially considering Toby Rodwell is already in line for that #6 come 2027.
Reece Foley & Jake Elliot are also outside the box options both excelled at lock in NSW Cup this year.
As much as i don't like it Adam Elliot is also on the lookout for a club and it makes sense considering his wife is here.
If he is found to have taken something, then i am all for the club letting him go. Personally i like that the club actually has standards and sticks to them. The players want to be paid and treated like professionals and adults, so that goes both ways. Weather other players at other clubs do it, or its a reflection on society etc is irrelevant. standards were set out by the club, and I like that we stick to it.
In saying that, I could see this being like a Jake Friend situation - sack him - go get another job and we will revisit it down the track

Yep.
Considering Uncle Nick made the drug use policy public news, I knew it would end this way for Rads.
You can't make exceptions or backpedal from a stance like that, because then players view it as unserious or negotiatble, and then overall discipline takes a freefall and you end up as an 'also ran' or 'transit lounge' club, unable to get back the discipline to become a premiership winning club, or perhaps even a finals making club.
I do however feel sorry for Rads in the sense that he is a fall guy ... whereas 30% + of NRL players are on the bags regularly. It's in the culture to varying degrees at all clubs.
Innocent until proven guilty but the optics aren't good !
All the cliché crap in the world but if the club has made a stance then by hell or high-water, we back the club and the jersey. No one is bigger than the club so therefore no exceptions should be granted if the rules are broken or disregarded otherwise we're no better than the other loosely managed and/or desperate clubs in the comp (Brisbane Broncos dealing with Ezra Mam).
Rads should've known better and if you wanna f*ck around find out well here you go, tell your manager to start looking for a new club and while you're at it, make sure you pick who your mates are and make sure they're reliable and not like that drop kick that has gotten you into trouble (Brandon Smith).
We will be okay, we have plenty options to cover him and if his time is up, then it was good while it lasted, thank you for the memories and achievements for the club and I wish him all the best !

What age was Friend sacked? Rads is 27 going on 28 next year.
For me it's not surprise that he hasn't kicked on since those lofty heights of 2018/2019 with the lifestyle he chooses to lead. It's not just the drugs, which probably a lot of players take here and there but he has made no secret of his love to over indulge in alcohol. Some may say it's legal, some may say it doesn't hurt anyone but putting all this stuff in your body is not what high achieving athletes can do and get away with. I know there have been the head knocks but he has not lived up to the potential he showed in those first few years and his lifestyle is a reason for this.

You want him to come back when he is in his 30s?
my point being more that, like Jake Friend, he is very loyal to the club and if he has made a stupid mistake, i can see the club giving him an opportunity to work his way back. and that's not a cop out, that's a club putting club first, but also acknowledging the welfare of the player, age is irrelevant in terms of welfare, but point taken, age is not irrelevant in terms of football ability

A year in the south of France might actually freshen Rads up - he looks tired
