Something is wrong about the timeline.

If it was last year, then it’s unlikely that Chad and Hugo would be part of the 7.
If it was last year, possible that Terrell was part of the group. Maybe this explains some things.
If it was last year, pretty sure Egan was out injured at that time.
If it was last year, maybe the Roosters knew about it and kept the information until it’s leaking was beneficial to us - like just before a season defining game against the Vermin.

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing about Hugo, completely forgetting Chad wasn’t even at the club then. It must be this year or the details about the 7 so called players are incorrect.

I’m concerned about match fixing the most because one week we are beating champions the next losing to prospective wooden spooners. I’ve long been suspicious of our up and down form turnarounds possibly involving betting on the side. The goal these days of RL is no longer to win premierships but to make as much $$$ as possible inviting corruption.

Yeah most likely a typo from the journo considering Chad wasn’t part of our squad in 2024.

This is why Politis should never have gone out and boldly announced his 'no chance' drug policy.

So much so, that he was apparently approached by Rads to score during an interstate golfing trip, meaning Cheese’s contacts are not just local. Rads has let himself and the club down, and it will be interesting to see what the fallout will be, but it seems to me the real person of interest is still the guy who was charged with supply, rather than any of the end users. It raises interesting questions about the company Cheese keeps, the debts he owes, who he owes money to, and so on. I also think there might be a lot of other nervous players from other clubs as well right about now; the fact that he was known as a supplier makes it obvious that Rads wasn’t the first player he has supplied. This could get a lot bigger.

But for me, as unsavoury as the supply charge is, the betting with insider knowledge charge is a real problem for the game. Few details have been released about this charge, but on the face of it, it sounds like proper cheating for money. I think that’s a bigger, uglier black eye for the integrity of the game than the supply of a party drug to rugby league players when the game is already rife with it.
'Supplier' can sound more dramatic than it is. It can just be a matter of 'can you give me your man in Brisbane's number mate?' and boom.

It can, and if that’s what happened then it is a tad dramatic. But for now, as details are still emerging, I meant it in the strictest sense. He’s been charged with supply, which by definition makes him a “supplier”.

Re Cheese he's the bloke that knows a bloke that can score. Supplier sounds a bit strong. Sure Cheese isn't the only NRL player that knows blokes that to score some gear from.

7 of the squad went and so far we know 1 wanted to score.

I'm a bit harder on Rads only cause he's a leader and a lot of younger players in the side......you're in a privileged position so if you know the joint is no tolerance and you shit on that then take the consequences.
Can't think of others but they banned Xerri for roids. Imo how'd we be thinking if it was Munster or Cleary.....we'd not be giving them a pass.

                        • I can't see any of our players getting suspended or even fined because it's baseless rumor. It isn't a good look at the club as we've avoided bad press for a few years.

The biggest question is will this destroy our chances or galvanize the squad? I guess we will find out Friday night.

                          • Mam got 10 weeks for dui (coke in his system) while injuring a little girl. If that’s the baseline from the NRL then the players have nothing to worry about as it’s all hearsay and rumour.

He's old and clueless when it come to that kind of thing. Robbo probably has a more open view on it, but if his boss feels that way he probably can't change his mind.

                              • The allegation of supply seems limited to Radley. Almost a best case scenario at least outside fringe players like ZDC, Chad and Sandon. Much rather Rads than Teddy or Hugo being named, as he is a case of a player who should know better but history tells us he doesn't. As said though it's a case of hearsay. The gambling allegations are when Smith was playing his first game for Souths, so at least that is one area we are off the hook.
