But why? If it brings us a try 4 times out of 5, why not continue to do it?

At the end of the day, I would rather win ugly than lose pretty!

Yeah it gives me great joy when an opposition coach or player says we scored our tries off kicks to justify their own crap performance.

Yeah I’m not saying dont do it - I’m just saying with toops out we will miss it as nobody else in the comp is so good at it and due to using it so frequently lately we have become reliant on it thus probably need to do something different tomorrow.

          Thats all

It’s a great opportunity for the Roosters to show that they can score tries on the ground, as well as in the air.

Just like they did against the dolphins.

The dogs vs roosters game was different. 2 teams with tough defence and both found it hard to break the other teams line for the full 80 minutes.

A shame Toups is out. That left edge worries me now.
                Good team otherwise.
                Agree.

Good chance to invent ways to score tries other than kicking to Toops.

We need to do sweeping backline plays...like I just saw one of the teams playing tonite do and score a try.
Most of the time our plays die midfield.

All good - maybe this week we target the opposite wing for Marky Mark!

Our team has scored some scintillating non-kick tries this season, particularly with Walker back in the team.

But at the end of the day, a try is worth 4 points (kick or no kick) so I just want the win!

I’m always worried when it comes to the must win games because we always lose them. Had we beaten a couple of no name teams we would be guaranteed a final spot but now who knows? Eels may turn up and flog us. South’s too have come good. So can we win enough of the next 3 games to tie up a spot in the 8? I’m saying no at the moment based on the past where we lost must win matches. We have to win 2/3 and have a better for and against than the dolphins who are 17 ahead. So unlikely this year we just left our run too late and that loss to the tigers really hurt our season.

If we can’t lap both Parra and Souths, then we don’t deserve to have a top 8 spot.
Given our dramatic form reversal since Walker and Savala were finally paired in the halves, I think we are a very good chance of winning all of the last 3 games and taking some momentum and confidence into the finals. Watching the game tonight, I’d say that we accounted for the Dogs much so easier than the Storm did, who were a bit lucky to win in the end. If the purple patch of form continues, we might just win the comp. Who’d have thought that was possible a month ago?

How do you figure we tend to lose must-win games? Several times in the last few years, we've gone on long win streaks to make the finals at all lol.

It's not impossible that the Eels beat us, but they will not be flogging us. That won't be happening.
