I like Edwards. I played against him a few times growing up, and he's certainly a very good player. That being said, Teddy is the best fullback in the game by a very significant margin, and has been (aside from Tommy in 2021) for a long while. There's genuinely no fullback who comes close, and arguing about whether Edwards is better than him is a non-starter.

Its not even close - you could swap Edwards with Connor Tracey and the Panthers wouldn't even notice a difference while what Teddy brings is irreplaceable

Sick of the commentator blindness saying he never makes mistakes
he makes them all the time
and many times with no pressure

Edwards would barely make the top 10 fullbacks in the game

can’t wait for him to be dropped for the kangaroos this year for Teddy at end of season

I wish Ted all the best if that’s what he wants but selfishly I like what he’s doing for us since he’s been out of rep honours. He’s focussed and fresher.

Edwards is a very good player and was a solid option for Maguire when appointed Blues coach at the expense of Freddy. Maguire clearly wanted to reenergise and put his own stamp on the team following another flogging at the hands of the Maroons. It wasn't warranted on form though.

With the Blues winning that series, Meninga found it easy to follow Maguires blueprint and sacrifice Teddy, rather than reflect on his own performance, following Australia's heavy defeat at the hands of the Kiwis in the Pacific Cup final towards the end of 2023.

It is a testament to Teddy and the champion he is, the way in which he conducted himself following this. Didn't get the attention it should have but I thought it was a disgraceful way to treat a player that gave his all to both teams. Not sure if any of that drives Teddy, but he has sent a clear message to all those that were so enamoured by the shiny, new but inferior toy that is Edwards.
yeah, edwards was hit in the arse by a rainbow.
edwards was in a club team that kept on winning comps - would anyone seriously suggest that team would have been weakened if teddy was the fb?
the blues lost a series with teddy as fb so madge wanted to shake things up
joe suaalii gets sent off so the blues lose with teddy as fb and teddy's in a losing team again.
no doubt edwards is a good player but he's not close to teddy

No rep games is helping Teddy perform at his optimum.

              He struggled back in 2023.

Agree he overplayed his hand that year as well which hurt the whole team

Anyone know the odds for the Dally M this year?
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

At the end of the day Edwards is a top player but Teddy is better.
The not playing Origin has been a blessing in disguise.
