No issue with the head clash, accidents are going to happen.

It was Keeley who put on a blatant shoulder charge, the fact that it was reviewed and not called a shoulder charge and then 1 minute later Toia was put on report for a shoulder charge and we were penalised for a shoulder charge that didn't even connect in the second half by the exact same ref and bunker who overlooked the first incident is the issue I have with it.

All the players involved in the push and shove being charged with contrary conduct is an embarrassing look for the game too, we used be unapologetic about being a violent game. These days feels like we are jumping at shadows to appease a certain part of the public who will never follow our game or care about it anyway.

Accidental contact to the head with your shoulder and it's a penalty. Accidental contact to the ball runners head with your head and it's ok. This doesn't make sense especially when Wong was concussed and removed from the game. The rule needs to be looked at imo.

When a player rushes up that quick with the intent to smash the opposition player and makes contact with their head it should be deemed a reckless high tackle imo.

i think there's been a rule change - for a brief while there they were penalising players for head on head collisions. personally i wouldn't mind if they reintroduced the rule for tackles off kick offs. the game's plenty tough enough without a version of the 'run it straight challenge'. the real offender was the bloke on the left with the shoulder charge. going in with the shoulder in a multi body collision situation is asking for someone to be knocked out

If a defender sprints up with clear intensions to smash the ball runner and there's a head clash, imo it should be deemed a reckless high tackle - Penalty - Sin Bin - Minimum 2/3 weeks suspension.

It's clear that the defenders technique was compromised by his intent to smash the ball carrier which lead to the head clash and concussion to Wong.

Furthermore, it should be the defenders responsibility to get it right!. Any contact to the head albeit accidental should be illegal.

I bet if the shoe was on the other foot you would think it was alright & it was alright.
99% of all the stuff that happens in the footy is accidental but because of the litigation worry the NRL have to show through the refs & bunker that they are pro HIA & are protecting the players.
At the end of the day all the NRL players are up for violence they love it.

I had no issue with the head to head contact. However, the number 12 who ran up with the shoulder was completely missed by the funker. Why was no action taken?

Something must have, I can’t recall the game, might have been the dogs game after us, two defenders contacted an attackers head, the bunker deemed the attacker had lowered his head into their arms, before that would have been a penalty.

I hope the Concreter gets a call up this week - Ethan takes Wongs spot starting and Concreter to the bench. Does mess with the balance of the team a bit though with one extra front rower and one less back rower so Robbo being Robbo probably goes with Steep who’s obviously more versatile.

The thing that pisses me off is that the entire farce would’ve been avoided if Sutton sin binned Donahue the nobody after his dog shot on Billy Smith. That started the issue with Spencer, sin binning the shoulder charge would’ve calmed our boys down and prevented the unnecessary 4 players going to the bin.

Donahue would’ve also still been off thus not concussing Wong with a borderline illegal tackle. Really really poor from Sutton who just shit the bed with his game management.
