He said that the NSW halves are good first graders and not superstars.

While I don't know that that's the case with Carney, it's definitely the case with Mitch.

I kind of feel for him.

I mean, he can only do what he can do, just like the rest of us.

As I've said before, his dad was more known for his dedication and effort than his natural ability. So his pedigree isn't what some people assume it to be.

Ray hadley on the footy show mentioned that the 6 and 7 were not up to it and nobody wants to talk about it, and the coversation died at that point, if Jamie soward played the same game as our 7 did last night he would be bagged in every part of the media, but even when the powers to be try to bring it up on live footy show it gets squashed! does anybody no why Pearce is exempt from being critised in the media? I wish he played up to his talk up by greats like Joey Johns but to no avail, but why no media attention at all? what is going on?

they did not even call his missed tackle.he is surely a protected species.the 9 commentary are gutless to criticise anything as per example the inglis 'try" in the first game.print media had a field day on that but the 9 commentary team did not make a big deal of it.i hope they lose the tv deal.they have had their use by date as too wonder boy who was totally out of his depth.

Channel 9 must have some sort of code of conduct where they are not able to criticise players etc

Johns, who is obviously from ch9, is on triple M and was giving it to Pearce's performance and game in general about 5 minutes ago

I tend to agree. Dont just lump it all on Pearce however. Carney is as much to blame. Another huge stage and another disappearing act from the loved/hated ex Rooster.

Even more reason 9 should not have the tv rights - if there is a code of conduct which is highly likely than it isn't commentary or feedback whilst we have to put up with all their jargon in jokes banter and subliminal promotion of online gambling

Josh is playing well but there are other 5/8 better than him. Our kicking game is the key and Josh is just a solid first grader like Pearce. Maloney and Soward are better than him. personally the halves really should be Soward and Adam Reynolds

It's been said for a while now that most of the players are now athletes rather than true footballers and that's obviously had an effect on the quality of halves. Thurston, Cherry Evans, and a few others, seem to be the only ones not manufactured and can read a game
