He hasn’t even played a game for us yet hahaha. Or even been announced. Bit early to put him in the conversation for worst signing ever.

I do tend to agree you can’t really say Chad was the worst signing ever just because it didn’t really impact the club negatively from a financial or player roster POV.
Most pointless and useless signing ever maybe.

IMO 'worst signing ever' is a prize that goes to a special kind of failure who has cost a lot of money, provided zero leadership/mentorship, performed like shyte and brought the club into disrepute through off field incident.

Chad's a nice bloke who's sadly past his used by date. However he's been on minimum wage, has supported various young players and is a gentleman off-field who everybody respects. He'll get a proper farewell.

Also who cares who our worst signing was anyway? I see little value in scraping the barrel.

I agree with the sentiment here, he was poor for the Roosters first grade side but from the little I've seen from NSW Cup he seemed to fit in well there and seemed to have the respect of the younger players, he likely offered plenty to our NSW Cup side which is what he was originally signed to do anyway, I hope he enjoys retirement and gets that media role that he seems passionate about.

BBR is death riding us and hoping DCE is the worst signing ever so he can say "See? Told you so!" next year. Of course DCE will not be our worst signing ever.

Willie Mason is probably the answer. Bloke was a flog off the field, just epitomised everything wrong with the club and the direction we were going in the late 2000s. Big money, big expectations, fk all delivered.

I remember looking at the side and some of the plebs we had in that era and thinking farrk why do I support this club, we have gotta have the biggest group of grubs and flogs in the comp. Worst part is, they were mercenaries for us and utterly useless. At least if your a shit human be a good footy player.

Wasn't he dropped to Newtown early in 2008 for playing up off the field with Nate Myles?

Mason gets very upset whenever the allegations of that final game get brought up and considering that betting was suspended a week in advance and the team fell apart from a 16 or 18-0 lead I firmly believe the allegations are true. Even without the final round stuff the behaviour of the team that season was an embarrassment and only got better once a real coach came in and the cancers were cut loose, anyone who was on the paid Wall would have heard what went on.
