  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Storm

The past three games have been a massive disappointment. We’ve lost to a couple of weak teams, including the pretenders who got the better of us last week and even struggled to scrape past the Saints. It’s been a real season of ups and downs. Expectations were low at the start of the year, but after seeing us compete strongly and knock off a few quality sides, our hopes naturally rose, only for us to be let down again.

Tonight is a chance to reset, play some good footy, and get back on track. It’s a great opportunity with Melbourne missing a couple of big names. The one I fear most though, Hughes, will be there. I rate him as the best No. 7 in the game, and he always seems to save his very best for us.

If we’re going to contain Hughes, our forwards need to show up. They’ve been missing far too often over the past few weeks. And our so-called Origin stars, they absolutely need to lift in a big way. Heavy workloads are no excuse, they’re supposed to be our leaders. It's time they showed it on the field.

We haven’t beaten these guys in a long time. Let’s hope we can turn that around tonight.

    Kick-off 750pm

    Go Roosters!

Hope the boys give the home crowd something to cheer about tonight. Only 3 wins so far this season at home has made it a pretty disappointing place so far this year.

        I hate the Melbourne rubbish.
It sucks dicks losing to a team that shouldn't be in the comp.
These bastards will get every advantage from the game managers tonight. Bet your house on it.

Can't imagine Wong will stay at lock and Foketi on the right edge. But other than that looks like we will be 1-17

OK I'm stretching here BUT did Robbo leave Sandon out last week so that he'd come in this week fired up to have a good game and prove Robbo wrong ?

              Ready for any pile on.

Seems to me the Roosters way is forcing passes, dropping balls, giving away penalties and 6 agains. But the Chooks are so much better than that potentially.

Yeh Robbo sacrificed the chance of a win last week so we could win this week. Give yourself an upper-cut.

Maybe he should have dropped them all last week and let the reserve grade side face Cronulla. That way we’d be guaranteed a win tonight.

Sadly that has become the Roosters Way. We are very consistent. Always lose the penalty and 6 again count and always have a lower completion rate than the opposition. This is our way.

We don’t want to see Roosters footy.

If we can't beat the Storm without Pap, Munster and NAS we certainty won't in 4 weeks time when they are all back.
I'm willing to say if we win this we will play finals, lose and its season over

All the best to the team tonight.

I don't want to be negative.

                          GO the mighty R W & B.

I'm still feeling last weeks loss. Thought that was the "money" game that decides whether we play finals or not. Hope I'm wrong and we start a run tonight. Sandon back is a plus, should never have been dropped.

Didn’t you hear mate, Robbo dropped Sando last week to get him psyched up for tonight. Robbo doesn’t mind losing to Fitzy because they are best mates. And last weeks game was only worth 2 points. Oh hang on a sec…so is tonight’s game.
