Roosters footy is meant to be tough in defense, play what you see with some ad-lib footy similar to French Rugby....

What it actually means is - players flying out of the line to get KO'd, give away penalties, try to score off every play and make unforced errors
Egan Butcher executes Roosters footy to perfection which is why Robbo loves him

Roosters style is high risk footy meant to blitz the opponents into submission. This style only works if you have the handling of the Harlem globe trotters which is why we lose to lower teams and sometimes fluke wins against top sides. It’s luck based speed tactics depending on perfect handling which can come terribly undone leading to multiple handling errors, penalties and 6 agains. If it comes off regularly you win a premiership.

Unfortunately we don't have the power forwards this season.

Errors can be defended with good defence good line speed and gang tackling wrestling the opposition into their backs out defence is completely non existent way too passive and the good teams make us pay.
Wtf is Robbo saying to the guys in defence? He can’t fix the error rate but he can certainly fix the defence so farken fix it the the woman’s team would give the men’s team a run for their money.

Watch the Storm 'squeeze' after they've made the tackle to buy time for their line to reset. They're the masters at it and will get away with it 9/10.

When we do it, we tend to get pinged more times than not.

Giving the ball away in the first set after we've scored seems to be a pillar of Roosters football.

After last nights display , we should demand Robbo tells the fans what Roosters footy is ? Maybe make it a poster at the next home game to make our point .

                      HIA - check
                      Penalties - check
Trying to score on tackle 2 when up by 8 with 10 minutes to go - check
                      Unforced Errors - check

                      Roosters footy achieved
                      Robbo really enjoyed that game

According to the pen Roosters footy only happens when we win. Then all the alleged sins of Roosters footy are conveniently forgotten. Why people get caught up in the semantics of a term I don’t know. Have you noticed how the Riff play a certain style? Yep that’s riff footy. Cleary may not refer to it as that but it’s how he wants his team to play, within the riff systems and style. Of course Trent wants us to not drop the ball, not give away penalties and not run sideways. Perhaps it’s just a fact we haven’t had the quality of players, especially in the halves and hooker, Penrith have had over the past five years and this is why Robbo’s Roosters footy isn’t implemented effectively? When it does work it’s brilliant to watch and no one complains about Roosters footy.

Yep, fair point. We tend to over-estimate the quality of the players we have and their ability to implement the plan effectively week in, week out. My sense is we still have a bit of rebuilding to do over the next few years.

You make some good points . The question is if we don’t have the players to implement roosters footy then why does Robbo talk about it ?

Storms assistant coach - I'm not too sure.
Craig Bellamy - Well Sandon Smith is playing so perhaps it has something to do with him. Should we be worried?
Storms assistant coach - Not really. I've just checked the Chookpen Forums and not even the die hards have a clue about Roosters footy anymore.
Craig Bellamy - Fair enough. Work hard, get lucky! She'll be right on the night mate.

bellamy - yeah, but doesn't make up for the 2018 gf. how did we lose to a 12 man team?
robbo - you win some, you lose some. storm footy was on show last night
bellamy - haha, you might have made an error by talking publicly about 'roosters footy' but you're right, we played to our principles last night. true storm footy
