I like that Trent has identified a style that he wants the team to play but I think if anyone knows what Roosters footy is, is us.

Personally I think it’s front-door footy through the middle in attack; and defend as a single cohesive flowing unit.

In his presser today he said the word "clear" about 4 or 5 times. Definitely needs a thesaurus.

Clear and Roosters footy - tbh it’s all just spin - we might be clear on how we want to execute but we ain’t actually doing it - not close. What is clear is we can’t hang on to the footy to build any consistent pressure. Roosters footy atm is fumbling and bumbling our way to losses against sides we should be beating. That’s what we are doing. That much is clear. It’s not even high risk footy which is causing the dropped ball - a lot of the time it’s just a simple pass.

Hope we can turn it around tonight - I’d like to see Sandon with a run first, pass second type of game tonight - that’s when he plays he’s best imo. I don’t think his ball playing is really up to scratch so run Sandon run!

Hoping for an improved performance tonight - if we don’t win we can’t make the 8 imo we will struggle to make the 8 anyway. Tough run home. We can only hope we click from now on. Hugo is a big out - he really gets us out of trouble with his boot and we have nobody that can do that besides him.

I would also like to see Losalu in the side, besides Naufahu I think he’s our best go forward pig.

Roosters footy is simple.
run 1 pass off the ruck using wingers and centres for the first 3 tackles. remembering to get to the middle 3rd of the field
run a second rower or prop on the 4th tackle
kick the ball directly down the throat of the oppositions fullback with no pressure on him
give away a simple set restart or penalty(depending what part of the field) for being toooooo slow getting up.

I have never been sure about his rubbish he talks about “the roosters way” sounds to me a whole heap of crap we haven’t really been competitive now for a number of years - unless I am wrong we give away the most penalties etc and errors - have a look at how the Panfers play and train we see that now with ex Panfers assistant coaches being successful at The dogs and warriors. My interpretation is touch footy for ~20 rounds, then panic at the possibility of missing out on the finals and revert to a power forwards game. This has been the pattern since 2020.
