Here’s a question. In times like these with Billy out next week. Would we want 300k of our cap used on Townsends contract or 300k of our cap for the remaining 50% of Young’s contract for this season. Would be handy next week.

Honestly, it has to be the stupidest decision to let Young go.
He was playing reasonable footy in ressies and on his call ups to first grade.
Now that Billy is concussed , do we play Egan or Angus in the centres, where they will be beaten for pace by their opposites - just like tonight?
I’d rather have a backline that reads Toops, Marky, Toia and Dom rather than the one that is fielded next week.

I wouldn’t have had Dom in the best 17 either but to release him mid season is just asking for trouble and is very short sighted. Unless, as I said previously he did something to warrant immediately leaving the club. From Robbo’s glaring praise of him before he left, doesn’t seem to be the case.

If he was picked in the strongest 17 ahead of the likes of a Billy or Toia, yes.

He is a better fill in option than anyone we have. The issue is getting rid of Dom mid season when we could’ve used him for depth.

I doubt it. Robbo tends to play players out of position first and foremost so I’d expect either Egan Butcher or another forward to be put there.

Also, have they changed the rule because King as 18th man could’ve played last night given BS failed his HIA from foul play? Him not playing a minute confirms my suspicion that he won’t play next week either.
