  • Billy Smith

Good interview on Bloke in a Bar dropped today.

    - Talks about how it was between the Storm, Waratahs and Roosters when signing his 1st pro deal - mentioned that Robbo was the key factor in him choosing us
    - I knew he had a Rugby background but wasn't aware he never really played League until joining us at 18
    - Goes into great detail about all his injuries and current headspace

    I love Billy.

I'd like to see him score the winning try in a GF one day.

Good man. Must admit I doubted him with all those injuries but you can see why the club stuck by him. Such a classy player when he’s fit. Can develop into one of the games elite centres if he can string a couple seasons together.

I reckon he’s already one of the game’s elite centres. I wouldn’t swap him for anyone. Fingers crossed all his injury woes are behind him.

He has proved me wrong. For year's I predicted he'd be rubbish. What would I know.

I remember when Bitchell left for the vermin I was saying on another site how I didn’t care because we had Billy as an astute replacement. All the vermin supporters were giving me s*** and saying I was just buttsore at losing the “best player” in the league, and Billy was rubbish.
Well…to all those toothless, Centrelink bludging nufties…we definately have the better centre.
So glad management stuck by him.

Looks like Latrell is out for the season again. He still hasn't played as many games for the Vermin as he played for the Roosters. They get about half a season's worth of games from him every year. That's about $80K per game. We paid him peanuts in comparison, he played nearly every game, and we won two premierships.

Maybe Herbie Farnworth for me. I’d love him in RWB. Otherwise yeah I don’t see many better than a fit and firing Billy Smith.

I agree Herbie is very good - but a mill - no thanks - too much for a centre - your halves 9 and 1 would alll want 1.3m if your centre was on a mill. It’s just too much for that position.

Billy could have have a field day tonight as Ramien is a late out for them. He’s a very strong defender so he’s a big loss for them and Billy now comes up against a rookie debutant. Only issue is he is relying on Chad giving him the ball.

Or would Sam be playing from the left now?

Souths fans are just jealous, ever since Billy palmed him into oblivion and passed on the injury curse Campbell Graham has looked more like Morgan Harper in the few games he has played

He has failed his HIA. Gonna be a big loss for the rest of this game and against the drizzle next week

so billy ends up with a category 1 and the cronulla bloke only gets penalised. guess with our record we should be thankful for a penalty. the fact that billy ducked his head doesn't detract from the fact that he was driven into the ground, hit his head and was ruled out of the game

Honestly how the **** was Brailey not sent to the bin? Dropped Billy on his head forcing him off and ruling him out of the game and next week?
what’s the bet brailey misses 3 weeks for that now
