First origin game I've seen in over a decade. It just doesn't have the same feeling it once did.
It's not much more than a glorified All Stars game that only serves to disrupt the NRL competition.
Why can't it be played on a Saturday or Sunday night? It's not as if the same amount of people won't watch it.
And it was clear that Teddy should have been out there. A class above the Penriff fullback.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

i know the game plan is to win, but start Spencer for some early energy and maybe a little fire, spread the ball instead of one up hit ups, and predictable poorly placed bombs.
All 3 games were pretty average this year.Last edited by milanja; 07-10-2025, 11:38 AM.

Just happy the Roosters boys played well and weren't injured.

Such a shit series run by Ch 9.
So 2024 series being won by NSW with Madge as coach.
Ch9 threatened somewhat because the series has always been about the QLD $.
It’s why Madge resigned due to Ch 9 influence as being owners of the series and wanting a successful Friday night Bronco game and a 2025 QLD victory.
It’s so contrived - even coach and team selections are done in conjunction with Ch 9 and tabloid nrl media.

Things needed to change at the 30 minute mark as there was nothing to lose and the writing was on the wall.
Luai was having a shocker and this was effecting their attack and rhythm.
I would've moved Mitchell to five-eighth, Stephen Crichton to left centre, Luai to right centre. Like or loathe Mitchell, he is a very good playmaker and his running game speaks for itself.

NSW were never in the game so no wonder the crowd went quiet.

but i can see why souths want out, the viewing is poor from a lot of seats, unluckily for us, the action was all down the other end except for the dearden match winner, the rest of the game was spent trying to watch from a distance or turn backwards towards the long screen which was behind us.
Would be an awful regular season home ground venue, nothing close by to Olympic park either.

Of course he is a decent enough player. Would I have signed him? No. Prefer to roll with interchanging Connor, Benny and ZDC. And spent our beans elsewhere. I do rate young Benny though, think there is potential for a real quality player in the making. Signing Robson worries me we lose a kid like that who we have put time into developing.
I even look at our likely spine next year of Ted, Walker, DCE and Robson. Its not quick enough for me esp with Ted a year older. I like quick feet and speed to threaten, esp in the 6 again world of today. I'm probably a bit isolated as I'm not even convinced Sam is the new Messiah for us. Quick between the ears no doubt. Hope the majority feting him are right though.
